Arizona Governor Doug Ducey issued an executive order (EO) that protects students from authoritative measures to segregate students who received the COVID-19 vaccine from unvaccinated individuals. Ducey’s EO is in response to a letter from Arizona State University Vice President of Student Services Dr. Joanne Vogel who wrote an email to remind students that the school “expected” that all students attending in-person classes to be vaccinated. She wrote that students who are unvaccinated would be required to wear face masks both indoors and outdoors while on the ASU campus and to take two COVID-19 tests per week.
Ducey’s EO states that a public university or community college may not mandate that students obtain a COVID-19 vaccine, show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, or require testing and mask usage, “unless such a requirement has been mandated by law in the state of Arizona.” This suggests that COVID-19 vaccines may be mandated by the state of Arizona in the future.
On Tuesday, Ducey issued an executive order which protects students from this authoritative measure to segregate the jabbed from the un-jabbed.

A public university or community college may not mandate that students obtain a COVID-19 vaccine, show proof of COVID-19 . vaccination, or place any conditions on attendance or participation in classes or academic activities, including but not limited to mandatory testing and mandatory mask usage, if a person chooses not to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine or disclose that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 unless such a requirement has been mandated by law in the state of Arizona.
This is concerning. Why is it necessary to include that “unless”? Is mandated vaccination coming to the state of Arizona? Why else would he make that statement?
On June 14th, The ASU Dean of Students sent a letter to all students regarding their new guidelines, which require students to be vaccinated if they want to be free.

Not rocket science. It’s because he realizes that he is a governor, and this is merely an EO. If the legislature decides to trump it with an actual law, he recognizes it will supersede his EO.
