The Democrat-run city of Chicago reported over 100 people  shot over the 4th of July holiday weekend.  Several teens were shot during the violent weekend, and an eight-year-old boy was killed. Two deceased victims, 45-year-old Neekshia Strong and 24-year-old Capri Edwards, were “shielding children from gunfire on Independence Day” and three young boys were struck. The unnecessary deaths happened despite strict gun control laws.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said, “Black death has unfortunately been accepted in this country for a very long time. We had a chance 60 years ago to get at the root causes. And people mocked President Johnson, and we ended up with Richard Nixon.”

After yet another bloodbath July Fourth weekend in Chicago, the crime-infested city’s Democrat mayor is trying to shift blame for the violence onto a former Republican president who has been dead for 30 years.

According to Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson, former President Richard Nixon is partly to blame for his city’s endless gun violence.

Unsurprisingly, Johnson has come under fire from many conservatives on social media, including the Richard Nixon Foundation.

During a Monday press conference after 19 were killed and over 100 were injured by shootings in Chicago over the weekend, Johnson said:

“What we’ve experienced over the weekend is unacceptable and we didn’t get here overnight. And everyone knows that. Let’s tell the full story of what happened.

“Black death has unfortunately been accepted in this country for a very long time.

“We had a chance 60 years ago to get at the root causes.

“And people mocked President Johnson, and we ended up with Richard Nixon.”

In a statement, Jim Byron, president and CEO of the Richard Nixon Foundation, pushed back on Mayor Johnson’s claim.

“Richard Nixon was a champion of civil rights as Vice President and as President,” Byron said about Nixon, who died in 1994.

“The record is clear,” he continued.

“Unfortunately there are many misconceptions about Richard Nixon, but perceptions of years ago are now being reconsidered as we see renewed interest in studying and understanding his life and legacy in full.

“As of now, our correction of the record is racing toward one million views on X alone.

“What is happening in Chicago is heartbreaking, and I imagine the people of Chicago want leaders who take responsibility and work together to solve problems rather than try and pass the blame, in this case ridiculously and gratuitously.”

Byron was referring to a social media post on Monday from the foundation responding to a clip of Johnson’s comments posted by conservative digital strategist Greg Price.

“Mayor Johnson’s reference to President Nixon is gratuitous and the facts are not on his side in his characterization of Richard Nixon and the Nixon administration’s civil rights record,” the Nixon Foundation posted on X.

The text thread went on to point out the various moves the Nixon administration took to promote civil rights, including desegregating schools, civil rights funding, an executive order “calling on federal government agencies to apply equal-opportunity policies to every aspect of federal personnel policies and practices,” and support for black-owned businesses.

Richard Nixon is now being blamed? Are you kidding me? I’m undoubtedly preaching to the choir here, but I’m posting a link to one of the most important documentaries you may ever watch. If you agree, I hope you will pass it on, especially to those who proclaim to be Christian, and to your black brothers and sisters.

Is he delusional or has he also been the victim of the “Great Gaslighting” the Dems have had the blacks believing for over 60 years??? How long it has taken for them to finally start waking up to the lies? What the Democrat party has done to black folks is nothing short of criminal! They put them on the mental plantation and gave them just enough hand outs to keep them quiet, living in the ghetto’s and kept telling them…..”We care about you and the Repubs don’t.” That’s it! They have bought into the lie and never saw through it……until… Read more »

That mayor is a delusional POS and the people of Chicago are getting what they voted for. If they are waking up they need to do the right thing and remove him.
