A 30-year old Honduran national was previously charged with felony carnal knowledge of a child 13 to 14 years of age in 2023 and he was arrested again on two additional counts of felony carnal knowledge of a child 13 to14 years of age in February 2024. The FDA’s new Modernization Act 2.0 authorizes drug makers use alternatives to animal testing, including cell-based assays and computer models, to obtain an exemption from the FDA to investigate the safety of a drug. The FDA is transitioning from testing animal models to directly experimenting on humans.
