Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a historic law as the first state to hold tech companies accountable. Floridians will be able to sue big tech companies that deplatform them. The new law will levy hefty fines, as much as $250,000 per day, on social media companies that deplatform political candidates. DeSantis said that social media is a public square and that Silicon Valley has censored public debate. Social media companies have used their power to divide America while claiming to be neutral platforms. DeSantis said that other states are considering similar legislation. The video is a bit long, but well worth watching through the point where he signs the law.
