The US Supreme Court Rejected the Lawsuit from Texas Challenging the Election, and Biden Won the Electoral Vote, But Trump Still Has Options to Reverse Everything

On Friday, the Supreme Court decided that Texas “lacked standing” to challenge the elections in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin under Article 3 of the US Constitution. In this way, the Court essentially side stepped the issue. However, if Trump is able to present evidence of election fraud to the Supreme Court, and if the Court acknowledges that evidence, there is the possibility that Biden would be disqualified, and Trump would serve a second term.

The contested election is not over. Several states sent Republican Electors to cast alternate votes. Vice President Pence will have full authority as president of the Senate on January 6, the day the Electoral votes are officially counted, and he will accept or reject motions to decide the next steps. If that happens, President Trump could be reelected by Congress because each state represented in the House is allowed only one vote, and the majority of state delegations are Republican.

In another scenario, litigation in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Arizona may result in more Electoral votes for Trump, who has 232 votes at this time.

Finally, Trump signed an executive order giving himself power to invoke the Insurrection Act, which amounts to martial law, if there was foreign interference in the election. The fact that the presidential votes were counted by machines outside the United States and operated by non-US companies is sufficient basis for the claim of foreign interference. -GEG

Supreme inconsistancy. So here is why the case was thrown out in Pennsylvania: “The state Supreme Court unanimously dismissed the lawsuit on Nov. 28, saying the GOP had waited too long to challenge the law. “Unsatisfied with the results of that wager, they would now flip over the table, scattering to the shadows the votes of millions of Pennsylvanians,” Justice David Wecht wrote. “It is not our role to lend legitimacy to such transparent and untimely efforts to subvert the will of Pennsylvania voters.”” And here is why the Texas case was thrown out: “Texas has not demonstrated a judicially… Read more »
