Virginia’s Department of Health announced it now is counting the number of positive virus tests instead of the number of people who test positive. If 1 person is tested 3 times and all 3 tests are positive, the records now show 3 cases. Other states, including North Carolina, have been reporting numbers that way, too.
Illinois Department of Public Health Director, Dr. Ngozi Ezike, says that ANYONE who dies after testing positive for the virus is classified as having died from the coronavirus. “So, everyone who’s listed as a COVID death doesn’t mean that that was the cause of the death, but they had COVID at the time of the death.”
