Tucker Carlson Reports on Kakhovka Dam Explosion in Russian-Occupied Ukraine

Tucker on Twitter
Tucker Carlson posted a news segment on Twitter about a major dam and hydroelectric power plant in Ukraine that were destroyed on Tuesday. The damaged Kakhovka dam puts Europe’s largest nuclear reactor, Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station, at risk of melting down. The Kakhovka dam was built by the Russian government and sits in Russian-controlled territory in Ukraine. The dam’s reservoir supplies water to Crimea. Months ago, a Ukrainian general that his men fired rockets at the dam in a test strike.

Both sides accuse each other of the attack, but it hurts Russia more. Carlson said that if this was intentional, it is an act of terrorism.

UPDATE:  Tucker Carlson used a deceptively edited clip of Lindsey Graham that misrepresented his comments — link for full story. Another criticism was that Carlson presented the testimony of purported whistleblower David Charles Grusch, a former intelligence official, as proof of UFOs and alien species.

Images and videos posted on social media show a major dam and hydroelectric power plant in the Russian-occupied region of Kherson, located in southern Ukrainian, destroyed early Tuesday. Water rushed through the dam into the Dnieper River, which separates Ukrainian and Russian forces. Both sides accuse each other of the attack that puts tens of thousands of homes at risk and might even threaten the safety of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.

It was not immediately clear who was responsible for blowing up the Nova Kakhovka dam. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted a drone video showing the damaged dam as water gushed downriver. Zelenskyy blamed “Russian terrorists.”

Meanwhile, Russia denied the attack. Russian-installed head of the Kherson administration, Vladimir Saldo, said Kyiv was behind the attack:

“The destruction led to a large, but not critical amount of water flowing down the Dnieper. It will not prevent our military from defending the left bank,” Saldo. He accused Kyiv of the attack to “divert attention” from failed counteroffensives.

The Russian-installed mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontiev, said the “night attacks” on the dam had “led to the destruction of the valves” and that “water from the Kakhovka reservoir began to uncontrollably be discharged downstream.”

Speaking of dams, has anyone been paying attention to the Oroville Dam in Northern CA which is about one foot from overtopping? If the water soon starts going over the decrepit spillway, there is a major risk of structural failure of the entire dam. This current situation is potentially worse than the 2017 Oroville Dam crisis. There are a lot of people living in the inundation zone below the dam, and the “authorities” don’t seem to be warning the general public in any meaningful way.
