Uvalde, Texas: It was recently disclosed that police waited for more than an hour before opening an unlocked door to a classroom at Robb Elementary School to kill Salvador Ramos, who was identified as the shooter. Footage was leaked of the police stalling in the hallway, looking at their phones and using hand sanitizer, while 19 children and two teachers were reportedly shot to death. The video shows the shooter, Salvador Ramos, walking through the halls at Robb Elementary School carrying an AR-15. Authorities say that he shot more than 100 rounds. The gunman wasn’t stopped until Border Patrol agents entered the building and shot and killed him. Parts of the video have been edited and censored, including an editor’s note that the sound of children had been removed. The conversations of the police on the scene are inaudible. The officers are not identified. A man who seemed to organize the breach of the classroom was armed with a rifle and was wearing shorts, which looked like civilian clothing.
Curiously, there is no mention of Jacob Albarado, an off-duty Border Patrol officer who said he was getting a haircut when he received a text from his wife, a teacher at Robb Elementary, about an active shooter at the school. He borrowed his barber’s rifle, went to the school and made a plan with a tactical team that was preparing to enter the school to try to enter the building and evacuate as many students as possible. According to NBC, he said he was standing outside the door where the gunman was and “At one point, I was there at the door fixing to go in, but once again I didn’t have any of my gear. It wouldn’t have been a smart move for me. All those guys had their gear and stuff so like I said, I pulled back.”
Cops responding to the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting ran away from gunshots while 19 children and two teachers were left to die in their classrooms, according to new footage of the horrifying attack published Tuesday.
The disturbing video, first obtained by the Austin American-Statesman, shows how police officers dillydallied in the hallway of Robb Elementary School instead of charging toward 18-year-old gunman Salvador Ramos as he systematically slaughtered 21 people on May 24.
The 77-minute clip shows officers rushing into the school just minutes after 18-year-old Ramos began his rampage, but rather than confront him, they stopped and lingered — with one cop in a helmet and vest even seen using a wall-mounted hand sanitizer and checking his phone.
The officers are also captured fleeing down the hallway when Ramos fires in their direction, according to the footage taken from school security cameras.
The video validates damning reports that local and state authorities failed to take immediate action to stop the bloodbath despite being just yards from the shooter.
Heavily armed officers are seen in the video walking around in the hallway, leaving, coming back, talking to each other and making calls during precious moments when they could have been trying to thwart Ramos.
