Glenn Beck said that the US has become the largest importer of food in the world. He warned of food shortages and suggested some basic ways to prepare for scarcity that include buying directly from farmers, sharing a cow and freezing it, raising chickens, growing produce, canning vegetables, bartering, developing useful skills, living near like-minded people and networking, buying silver and gold, storing goods like alcohol or seeds that can be traded, keeping cash on hand, making paper copies of all important documents, secure deeds on property, and more…

As an environmental engineer, i have been screaming this same message to all who may hear- to first GROW YOUR OWN FOOD, then to engage in exchange with your most trusted fellows, and to practice daily business without currency, as is possible, then to exercise your personal skills- so as to be valuable beyond your pocketbook– and this message is for not only students of organic farming or permaculture. to me, this is only basic sensibility, perhaps that is only because it is in my field of concern. however, these practices in modern society are an exceedingly rare occurrence, as… Read more »

The more self-sufficient we are, the less these engineered crises will hurt us. Furthermore, as we endure these impending hostilities, let us all recognize who our true enemies are. Let us also realize the incompetence of the “state” in protecting and insulating us from these problems so that we can begin the process of dismantling these abominable bureaucratic systems once and for all.

Be prepared to be able to defend yourself and loved ones from the “blue helmets” in case it becomes that serious. If you are a senior and live in a metro area then sell out and move to a rural area that has acreage to be able to do all that Beck suggests. Metro areas are going to be THE worst of all should a collapse of our ‘system’ take place.

A guy I knew did 6 months in prison during WW2 for sharing half a cow without a ration card. Expect the heavy hand of government to be everywhere.
