Summary by JW Williams
Darrell Brooks Jr, 39, is accused of killing five people and wounding 48 more after driving his car through a Christmas parade. Brooks has an extensive criminal history, totaling 16 arrests since 1999, and has been repeatedly released from police custody on bail.
In Brooks’ latest arrest on November 5, 2021, he was charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, felony bail jumping, battery, obstructing an officer, and disorderly conduct after allegedly running over a woman, the mother of his child, at a gas station following a fight. Bail was originally set at $10,000, but was reduced to $1,000, and Brooks was able to leave jail. When he was bailed out, Brooks also faced multiple pending cases in Milwaukee County involving second-degree reckless endangerment and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Judge Jeannine Pirro said that Mr. Brooks has not been prosecuted for his numerous crimes! She blamed the district attorneys and judges.
Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm has called for an investigation into the “inappropriately low” cash bond. It appears that Chisholm is trying to minimize his role in the massacre as he is an avid supporter of so-called criminal justice reform, which includes releasing criminals from prison. Only one-third of all referrals from the police in this county are ever charged!
A Wisconsin Right Now investigation found that the Milwaukee County DA John Chisholm’s no prosecution rate has exploded in the past year, with his office refusing to prosecute 6 in 10 of every felony charge requested by police. As a result, Brooks, a violent criminal, was enabled to allegedly committed racially-motivated terrorism thanks to the radical policies of Chisholm and DAs like him.
