Broward County: Video of School Police Officer Waiting Outside During Shooting

Youtube

Surveillance footage from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting shows that the school police officer, Scott Peterson, drove toward the shooting, but did not enter the building during the shooting. Peterson retired rather than face dismissal but is being investigated by internal affairs.  Before we jump to the conclusion that the school police officer failed to do his duty, we must realize that government enterprises like schools and the police officers who work for them do not have a duty to protect citizens against the actions of a private third party. Sounds like a good argument in favor of arming teachers who voluntarily accept the responsibility to protect their students if they can.] -GEG

The first duty of any police officer is the willingness to lay their life on the line for civilians, Especially kids. Anyone unwilling to do that should not be a cop.
