Fifteen states and the District of Columbia have enacted laws to allow unauthorized immigrants to obtain drivers licenses. States that issued licenses to illegal aliens received an estimated $53-million last year that would be impacted by this new legislation.
The Department of Justice filed civil lawsuits on sanctuary jurisdictions across the US asking judges to overturn the policies, and warning state and city officials they could face their own criminal charges for harboring illegal immigrants.
Juan Sanchez has been deported six different times in the last two decades. The 42-year-old suspect was also arrested three times for driving under the influence of alcohol between 2000 to 2002. His bail has been set at $500,000.
Jose Bryan Guzman has been accused of murdering his girlfriend just six months after being released from jail. Guzman was arrested in December 2018 for committing armed robbery on two separate occasions, but was released when Durham County announced it would no longer cooperate with ICE.
Ramirez Valiente has been charged with reckless driving, as his license was revoked due to a DUI in 2018. He was also arrested for reckless endangerment in 2011 and domestic violence in 2016. A district attorney dismissed both charges.
Democrat Elizabeth Warren, who has already voiced support for open borders in the US, now endorses AOC’s proposal to provide welfare for illegal immigrants, including free healthcare, unemployment benefits, and food stamps.
Democrat Representative Ilhan Omar advocates that the UN take control of the US border with Mexico, although the action would be the end to nationhood. If her plan were adopted, the US, like Europe, would be deluged with millions of migrants.
