Maddow’s lawyers argued that the news star’s statement was “rhetorical hyperbole, incapable of being proved true or false.” But, it can be proven false. Maddow, a graduate of Stanford and Oxford Universities and a Rhodes Scholar, is not the sort of person an audience would expect to misuse the word “literally.”
The Trayvon Martin case was fabricated around his final phone with his girlfriend, Diamond Eugene, that falsely portrayed the shooting as a racial attack. Evidence points to Trayvon as the aggressor. The real Diamond Eugene never testified at Zimmerman’s trial, as a fake witness was substituted in her place.
So, why the cover up? Weinstein has a long history of using private investigators to unearth damaging information about people who threatened him. Did he do that to NBC? Some within the company believe Weinstein threatened to reveal damaging information about former NBC news anchor, Matt Lauer, and possibly others in the organization.
President Trump suggested that he might revoke White House credentials for some journalists following the publication of a survey that showed over 90% of mainstream media news coverage of him is negative and tilts strongly to the left. Matt Drudge, the influential Internet news publisher, warned that Trump’s crusade against ‘fake news’ could lead to government licensing all reporters.
Dan Johnson, who was under investigation for alleged sexual molestation, had said the allegations were fake news, and may have committed suicide as a result. He was found dead on a bridge with the fatal weapon on his person. Johnson had been accused of molesting a 17-year-old girl at Heart of Fire Church in 2013, where he was the pastor. He was never charged over the accusations, but was said to be under investigation.
