During a Senate hearing on US Spending in Afghanistan, Sergio Gor, Senator Rand Paul’s deputy chief of staff, made a written statement indicating that between 20% and 50% of US reconstruction funding in Afghanistan “goes to corruption, waste, fraud, and abuse.” US involvement in Afghanistan will cost taxpayers $45-billion in 2018.
Israel: An estimated 20,000 people shouted “shame!” in protest against Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is accused of taking bribes from wealthy campaign contributors in exchange for political favors and for trying to block the investigation. Members of Netanyahu’s Likud party introduced legislation that would ban police from sharing the conclusions of their investigations with those in political office. Instead, it has been used as a legal money-laundering operation for collective causes. The bureau was set up to operate without Congressional oversight and is funded by the Federal Reserve, not Congress.
The Inspector General for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) hid 14 reports on serious corruption such as tax fraud and allowing 1,300 fugitives, including murderers and rapists, to live in HUD-funded homes. These reports were made public only when journalists from Daily Caller obtained them under a FOIA request.
