In contrast to this paralysis, Kris Kobach, Secretary of State of Kansas, laid a out plan to immediately stop the deluge of people at the border: (1) Publish the government’s regulations defining how entire families can be housed together; (2) Create processing towns at major points along the border containing the hundreds of currently empty government trailers to serve as temporary housing for immigrants, and create a team of immigration judges who can immediately deport migrants on a fleet of planes; and (3) prevent illegal aliens from wiring money to Mexico, which currently amounts to more than $20-billion per year. This, alone, says Kobach, would cause Mexico to cease being a channel for illegal immigration, which means Mexico would be motivated to prevent migrants from passing through on the way to the US border – or lose $20 billion annually for its economy.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s interview with Tucker Carlson on Tuesday was as cringe as it gets.
Tucker’s first question was, “What is the executive branch doing now to fix this [border crisis]?”
Nielsen responded, “Well, uh, you probably don’t have enough time for me to tell you all the things…” then proceeded to ramble about nonsense.
Tucker kept asking her if she would implement specific policies such as e-verify or ending birthright citizenship and she just kept responding saying “everything is on the table.”
“Everything is on the table” — but she won’t actually do anything. Instead, we get non-stop buck passing as she expands H-2Bs.
Though Nielsen’s performance was a disaster, Tucker Carlson was on fire and absolutely hilarious.
We may be getting the exact opposite of what we voted for but at least the greatest host on Fox News is pointing out what a ridiculous farce this whole situation is.
Kris Kobach, who Trump should have made DHS head, explained how this crisis could be solved yesterday.
There were reports on Tuesday that Trump might appoint Kobach or Ken Cuccinelli as an “immigration czar,” but what is he supposed to do with Nielsen actively working against us at DHS?
