Health authorities in Scotland are set to launch an investigation after an “unusual” spike in deaths of newborn babies was recorded on two separate occasions. A year ago in September, 21 neonatal deaths were reported, and alarm was raised again after 18 infants died within four weeks of birth in March 2022.

He said, “We are seeing, right now, the highest death rates we have seen in the history of this business – not just at OneAmerica.”
