Media Ignores Riots Rocking Philadelphia After Police Shoot and Kill Black Man Armed with a Knife

Riots began in Philadelphia on Monday night after the police shot and killed Walter Wallace, age 27. Police say that the decedent threatened them with a knife and refused to drop his weapon; video shows that police told him to drop the knife at least two times before shooting. His family called the police because he was having a mental breakdown. Wallace has an extensive criminal record and was first arrested in 2006 for assaulting a teacher when he was 13 years old. He was arrested in March after he allegedly threatened his child’s mother over the phone, saying “I’ll shoot you and that house up.” In 2019, he was charged with resisting arrest by “kicking the windows and door panels of a police patrol car.” In 2016, during a robbery, he allegedly grabbed a woman by the neck and held what she believed to be a gun to her head, according to court records. In 2013, Wallace’s mother had a protective order against him which he allegedly violated when he “threw water in her face and punched her in the face” and “threatened to return and shoot” her, according to court records.

At least 30 officers were injured when the crowds throwing rocks and bricks at police. A female police sergeant was intentionally run over by a pickup truck and was hospitalized with a broken leg.

Police were reportedly told to stand down during the ensuing riots. Many people were shot, mostly by other looters.  Authorities took action only after finding van filled with explosives. Black Lives Matter and Antifa vandalized and stole from many businesses. Reporter Elijah Schaffer, who was beaten and threatened with a gun, says that he was attacked because he is white.

The National Guard is being mobilized amid the riots and civil unrest that have rocked Philadelphia since Monday night after the shooting death of Walter Wallace at the hands of police.

Lt. Col. Keith Hickox said in a statement that it was “At the direction of Governor Wolf, and PEMA,” that “the Pennsylvania National Guard is mobilizing several hundred members in support of the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management and assist local agencies in protecting life, property and the right to peacefully assemble and protest,” according to local news.

“Assisting civil authorities during times of need is one of our core missions in the National Guard and our Citizen Soldiers and Airmen are well-trained and well-prepared,” Hickox said, “to assist our commonwealth and our communities in any way we can.  We are able to conduct operations in support of civil authorities to enhance local law enforcement’s ability to provide continued public safety and critical infrastructure security.”

Protesters Broke the Jaw of 71-Year-Old Kenosha Man Fending Off Vandals

Violent looters in Kenosha brutally attacked a 71-year-old man who was recovering from a double bypass surgery and was trying to stop the mob from vandalizing and stealing from buildings during Monday night’s protests. Someone threw a plastic bottle filled with concrete at the man, causing him to fall to the ground and break his jaw; he will have to undergo surgery. According to the owner of the mattress store that was set on fire and destroyed, someone pulled a gun on the senior as he tried to defend the buildings by spraying the looters in the face with a fire extinguisher so that they would have to remove their masks and could be identified.

Demonstrators in Kenosha brutally attacked a 71-year-old man who was defending buildings from vandals and looters during Monday night’s protests, throwing a plastic bottle filled with concrete, causing him to fall to the ground and break his jaw in two places.

Robert Cobb, 71, took to the streets to defend businesses after seeing footage of lawless protesters shamelessly setting buildings on fire.

According to the Kenosha News, “Cobb is a member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge and close friend of Pamela ‘Sue’ Moniz, owner of The Mattress Shop” — two places protesters set ablaze. Cobb attempted to ward off looters and vandals by spraying them with a fire extinguisher. According to Moniz, owner of the mattress shop that protesters destroyed, someone pulled a gun on Cobb as he tried to defend the buildings.

“He sprayed them in the face so they had to take their masks off for identification,” she said. “Someone pulled a gun and another person yelled, ‘Don’t shoot this man, don’t shoot this man.’”

At another point, the elderly man was attacked with a plastic bottle filled with concrete, causing him to fall to the ground in a pool of blood.

“I absolutely cry every time I talk about it because this man did this for me,” Moniz said, according to Kenosha News. “He did it because that is the kind of person he is. He is so giving; so selfless”:

Chicago Store Owner to Sue the City After His Store Is Looted Twice

Chicago: Walid Mouhammad, the owner of a convenience store, is suing the city for police inaction after his store was robbed for the second time on August 9th, resulting in massive damage and the theft of an ATM machine. Mouhammad had invested $300,000 in security cameras and a new steel security door after the first time his store was robbed in May during the George Floyd riots. Mouhammad blames the police for the destruction of his store because they failed to even try to stop the thieves. -GEG

Walid Mouhammad, the owner of a convenience store in Chicago, is suing the city for police inaction after his store was robbed for the second time. Mouhammad had invested $300,000 in increasing security to the store after the first time he was looted in May. Mouhammad blames the police for his destroyed store, claiming “no one came to stop them.”

Mouhammad’s store was devastated when it was first looted in May, causing the store owner to invest heavily in security. He had installed security cameras and a new steel security door, which he watched the looters rip out in real-time through the security cameras. He said that the looting was much worse the second time around, as not only did the looters steal the store’s merchandise, but ripped out the ATM machine as well.

Mouhammad claims that the looters spend around 25 minutes at his store, according to the Daily Mail, during which several calls to the cops were made. “No one came to stop them,” in all that time, he told Fox News, adding that “Officers are seeing what is going on but are doing nothing.” The building’s landlords themselves made several calls as well. “I made six calls myself. The store owners, they made calls, my maintenance guys made calls,” said building owner Tommica Foster-Akin to ABC 7 Chicago.

Mouhammad had only been open for 40 days after the first attack and now refuses to open the store until the city can provide some promise as to safety — not just for him, but for all small business owners in Chicago. “I want to know, are we protected or not? I want them to take care of the small businesses,” he told Fox News. He plans to sue the city of Chicago for taking more than 25 minutes to respond to his distress call.

The looting comes in the wake of a police shooting in Englewood, Chicago, on Sunday, August 9, leading to widespread looting in the city that lasted well into Monday. The Chicago Police Force had promised to have more than 1,000 cops on the streets of the city in order to prevent more such looting.

Chicago Rioters Terrorized Families at the Ronald McDonald House

Last Sunday night, looters attacked the Ronald McDonald House in the Streeterville, an area in downtown Chicago next to the Miracle Mile. The charity, established in 1974, maintains houses near hospitals so families with hospitalized children have a free and supportive place to stay. Often, children stay there as well if they have outpatient procedures. Two-year-old Owen Buell, who is being treated for Stage-4 cancer, was denied his planned birthday party and, instead, cowered in his room with his family, fearful of the mob. -GEG

One of the appalling stories to emerge from the Black Lives Matter mob’s rampage in Chicago on Sunday night was the fact that looters attacked the Ronald McDonald House.  Any American who’s watched television in the last 45 years knows about the Ronald McDonald House charity.

The charity, established in 1974, maintains houses near hospitals so families with hospitalized children have a free, safe, and supportive place to stay.  Often, children stay there as well when they have outpatient procedures.  In Chicago on Sunday night, however, the Ronald McDonald House was no longer safe; it was terrifying.

The following tweet has the news story that first alerted Americans to the fact that the mob isn’t about justice; instead, it’s functioning with typical mob motives: greed, violence, terror, and power:

One of the people whom the mob’s violence affected was two-year-old Owen Buell, who’s being treated for Stage 4 neuroblastoma.  (Thankfully, treatments for neuroblastoma have improved in the last few years, but it is a terrible childhood cancer, with a survival rate of less than 40%.)

Owen, who is getting treated at the Lurie Children’s Hospital close to the Ronald McDonald House, was due to get a special treat: he was going to go home for his birthday.  The mob ended that plan:

“We were going to have cake and ice cream and do some presents at home with his siblings and his grandma,” said Owen’s mother, Valerie Mitchell.

But looting throughout downtown Chicago made it impossible.

“We got a phone call from the nurse saying that none of the nurses could make it in for safety concerns and they didn’t want any families in the middle of that trying to walk into Lurie’s,” Mitchell said.

The Ronald McDonald House was one of several locations hit early Monday morning.

“The whole door was shattered and it looked like a bullet hole, so I started freaking out thinking about how unsafe that was. You shouldn’t feel that way when your kid needs medical care. You shouldn’t be afraid to walk a few blocks down the street,” she said.

If you go to the linked article, you will see a picture of a dapper Owen, bald as an egg, with tubes taped to his face, all dressed up for his birthday celebration.  That he and his family, instead of celebrating, spent the night cowering in fear of rampaging mob is a shameful mark not just on the mob, and not just on Chicago, but on the entire Democrat establishment.

Since the riots began, Democrats assiduously avoided condemning the mob riots associated both with Black Lives Matter and Antifa, including the extreme rioting in Seattle and Portland.  Instead, Democrats were rooting for them.
