Gavin Newsom Responds to COVID Criticism: “We Would Have Done Everything Differently”

California Governor Gavin Newsom faced criticism over the strict lockdowns and mask mandates he implemented in the state that prompted a recall effort. While Newsom did say, “We would have done everything differently,” he failed to take responsibility for the COVID policies he implemented. The Governor called for “humility” when Meet The Press host Chuck Todd pressed him over decisions he made during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is important to remember that Newsom failed to follow his own guidelines and he was caught dining indoors during a lockdown. In 2020 he was asked if he sees the coronavirus pandemic crisis as “potential” for a “new progressive era” and he replied: “Absolutely. We see this as an opportunity to reshape the way we do business and how we govern. That shouldn’t put shivers up one the spines of one party or the other.”

Gov. Gavin Newsom said criticism of California’s tough Covid-19 restrictions was valid and he would have taken an entirely different approach, given what he knows now about the pandemic.

“I think we would’ve done everything differently,” Newsom said in a taped interview set to air on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday.

“I think all of us in terms of our collective wisdom, we’ve evolved. We didn’t know what we didn’t know. We’re experts in hindsight. We’re all geniuses now.”

Later in the interview Newsom responded to criticism of his state’s decisions by saying: “All of it’s legitimate in terms of reflection.”

Host Chuck Todd pressed the California Democrat on specifics, including whether Newsom and state officials were too accommodating to the film industry during periods of strict distancing requirements where Californians were prevented, for example, from gathering for family funerals. “I think there’s a lot of humility. And we didn’t know what we didn’t know. And it was hardly I; it was we, collectively,” Newsom responded.

Newsom faced considerable anger in his state during the pandemic, including a recall attempt fueled by partisans but also frustrated business owners and parents who felt like the state acted too cautiously and refused to loosen up even as other states did. Nationally, he’s taken heat from the likes of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, now a Republican presidential candidate, who has leaned into comparing his state’s more lax approach over the duration of the pandemic with Newsom’s stricter, longer, guidelines.

Despite considerable prodding from Todd on specifics where Newsom would have made different decisions in his hard-hit state, including the protracted closure of in-person learning at schools, the governor largely kept to generalities.

Newsom did, however, point to differences in how the virus spread indoors versus outdoors, and alluded to policies around masking and vaccine distribution that would have been handled differently in hindsight. “You want to talk about prioritizations early on in terms of those vaccines. You go through a series of things, and there’s so many things we could’ve done differently,” he said.

Kentucky and Texas School Districts Shut Down after ‘Surge’ of COVID Cases

The Lee County School District in Kentucky and Magoffin County Schools in Texas have shut down schools in response to a so-called “surge” in COVID-19 cases in the area. The said they cancelled classes due to “widespread illness” consistent with COVID and influenza. Authorities in Lee County claimed a surge of cases led to a drop in school attendance below the threshold needed to stay open, so they closed. Last week President Biden also announced he sent a proposal to Congress to sign off on more COVID vaccine funding.

School districts in Kentucky and Texas have shut down schools in response to a so-called “surge” in COVID-19 cases in the area.

The Lee County School District and Magoffin County Schools said they cancelled classes due to “widespread illness.”

“We’re seeing a lot of illness being reported consistent with COVID and influenza,” Scott Lockard, public health director for the Kentucky River District — which includes Lee County — told ABC News. “Lee County had a surge of cases and attendance dropped below the threshold needed to stay open, so they closed.”

“Stay home when you’re sick,” he said. “Previously it was a seen as a badge of courage, ‘Oh I haven’t missed a day of work in 40 years. I went to work sick.’ We don’t want to see people saying that. We want, ‘I had symptoms, so I stayed home because I’m considerate of my coworkers.’”

Pete Shepherd, director of Magoffin County’s Public Health Department, acknowledged that the 40 or so COVID cases have “not been as severe.”

“The good news is the symptoms have not been as severe,” Shepherd said. “The kids are not as sick. Small temperature, feeling bad, flu-like symptoms.”

The Runge Independent School District in South Texas announced Monday its schools would close from Aug. 22-29, despite the data showing a COVID “positivity rate” of only 4.2%.

Biden Has Already Begun Buying COVID-19 Equipment, Hiring Pandemic ‘Safety Protocol’ Enforcers

The federal government has started purchasing COVID-19 equipment and hiring advisors on “safety protocols” amidst speculation the Biden White House will reinstate pandemic-era lockdowns and mandates. Unearthed government contracts from entities that include the Department of Defense (DOD) show millions in taxpayer funds being used to purchase testing services and equipment. Some of the contracts are scheduled to begin as soon as September and October.

On August 14th, the Veterans Administration began a $3.3 million contract with Oddball Inc for advisory on “adequate COVID/19 safety protocols”.

The federal government has started purchasing COVID-19 equipment and hiring advisors on “safety protocols” amidst speculation the Biden White House will reinstate pandemic-era lockdowns and mandates, War Room can reveal.

The unearthed government contracts from entities including the Department of Defense (DOD) show millions in taxpayer funds being used to purchase COVID-19 equipment such as test kits. Some of the contracts, which are traceable via the federal government’s spending database, are even scheduled to begin in future months such as September and October.

The DOD, for example, gave Hologic Sales and Service LLC a $1.5 million contract beginning on October 1st that’s set to conclude in May of 2024. The federal database reveals the funds are for “Hologic covid testing services in support of the department of pathology at Madigan army medical center, Tacoma, WA 98431. (new delivery order).”

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) also inked a $2 million contract with Abbott Molecular Inc. beginning on September 22nd. Set to conclude in September of 2024, the contract will provide testing services for viruses including COVID-19.
The VA also started a $1.3 million contract with Biofire Diagnostics LLC on August 18th for its “COVID-19 testing reagents and equipment.” The contract is slated to expire in August of next year.
On August 14th, the VA also began a $3.3 million contract with Oddball Inc for advisory on “adequate COVID/19 safety protocols”:
“TASK ORDER IS FOR DEVELOPER EXPERIENCE. “EO14042” MODIFICATION TO ADD FAR 52.223-99 ENSURING ADEQUATE COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR FEDERAL CONTRACTORS (OCT 2021) (DEVIATION).”

The contract is set to expire in August of next year.

The Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, New York, reinstated mask mandates on Thursday amid reports of an uptick of COVID cases and renewed media hysteria over a new subvariant.

“Effective immediately, mandatory masking is required by all staff, visitors, and patients in clinical areas of Upstate University Hospital, Upstate Community Hospital, and ambulatory clinical spaces, according to a memo sent to staff and obtained by Syracuse.com“Clinical areas are defined as any location patients gather, wait, transport thorough, or receive care.”

From Becker’s Hospital Review:

All patients being admitted will also be tested for COVID-19, according to the memo. Upstate University Hospital said it will revisit the policies in three weeks. Syracuse.com reached out to several other hospitals in the region. Crouse Hospital indicated no plans were underway to update testing or masking policies. Meanwhile, St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center said it is reviewing policies.

The move comes as COVID-19 admissions tick up nationwide. In New York, new COVID-19 admissions were up 3 percent for the week ending Aug. 5, with a total of 650 new admissions, according to CDC data.

  • HUGE!! Infowars M.D. products are now 30% OFF! This revolutionary series of lifestyle-altering products will redefine your peak physical and mental state!

Since the COVID-19 public health emergency’s end in May, hospitals and other healthcare facilities’ masking guidelines are no longer tied to the CDC’s community transmission metric. Policies are largely left to individual hospitals, with the CDC recommending a “risk-based approach” that considers factors such as local transmission, and in units or areas of a facility  experiencing an outbreak.

Idaho: Christians Are Compensated $300,000 for Rights Violations

Americans’ freedom of worship is enshrined in the Bill of Rights, yet COVID-19 not only supplanted organized religion, it usurped the United States Constitution. Citizens suddenly lost their rights to freedom of speech, freedom to travel, freedom from surveillance, and more. Three church-going Christians in Idaho recently reached a $300,000 settlement with a Moscow, a small college town, after they were arrested for attending outdoor church services in September 2020. Christ Church Pastor Ben Zornes organized the worship. “We were just singing songs,” he explained at the time.

.

Just how untethered to the rule of law did the United States come during the Covid response?

Before March 2020, most Americans would think that monitoring church attendance, banning Easter services, and arresting hymn singers were practices reserved for Eastern-style totalitarianism. The Soviet Union persecuted Christians and the Chinese have Muslim concentration camps, but Americans’ freedom of worship is enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

The free exercise of religion precedes all other liberties in the First Amendment. It was born of a core conviction that the New World could do it better than the Old World of religious wars and persecution. Freedom, the Founders believed, would not diminish religious experience but rather bolster it through toleration and peace. This was a radical conviction at the time, a dramatic departure from centuries and millennia of costly struggle.

Government guaranteed everyone’s religious liberty. And the system worked. Religious conviction did not diminish but rather intensified throughout the 19th century. Most governments in the world followed similar guarantees never to interfere with religious practice. Even in the 21st century, when the country in general had become increasingly secular, few could imagine that political leaders would launch a crusade against organized religion.

Yet that’s exactly what happened. As the Covid creed emerged as the national faith, the American tradition of religious pluralism withered away. Freedom of worship was replaced by widespread demands for conformity.

This wasn’t limited to the devoutly godless shores of Marin County or East Hampton. Christians in Idaho recently reached a $300,000 settlement with a local city after they were arrested for attending outdoor church services in September 2020. Christ Church Pastor Ben Zornes organized the worship. “We were just singing songs,” he explained at the time.

The local police chief had no patience for the violation of corona law. “At some point in time you have to enforce,” he told the press after arresting attendees at the “psalm sing.”

Former UK Health Secretary Aimed to “Frighten the Pants Off Everyone” During COVID Pandemic

After UK citizens were assured that they could gather with their families for Christmas in December 2020, the government rescinded its promise; leaked messages show that former UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock told aides he wanted to ‘frighten the pants off everyone’ to ensure compliance with COVID-19 lockdown.

The WhatsApp scandal has exposed 100,000 text messages. Hancock told top London lawyers he should be immune from prosecution as he has been accused of failing to protect people in care homes (nursing homes) as he ignored medical advice to test people before placing them in the facilities.

In June 2021, Hancock had to step down as Health Secretary after photos emerged showing he had violated his own social distancing rules to pursue an extramarital affair with UK Department of Health employee, and millionaire activist, Gina Coladangelo, who was earning £15,000 a month. Hancock and Coladangelo were both married at the time and have since left their families.

.

Matt Hancock told aides he wanted to ‘frighten the pants off everyone’ to ensure compliance with Covid-19 restrictions, leaked messages reveal, as it emerges he told top London lawyers he should be immune from prosecution just days before the WhatsApp scandal broke.

In an online Q&A with law firm Mishcon de Reya, Matt Hancock accused those prosecuting Secretaries of State as ‘chasing tabloid headlines’ just 12 days ago, The Mirror reports.

It comes as a new swathe of messages from Mr Hancock’s WhatsApp account were revealed today, involving discussions over how to scare the public to limit the spread of coronavirus, and when to ‘deploy’ details of a new strain.

The latest set of WhatsApp exchanges show Mr Hancock and others discussed how to use an announcement about the Kent variant of the virus to scare the public into changing their behaviour.

The messages, among more than 100,000 WhatsApps passed to the Telegraph by journalist Isabel Oakeshott, show that Cabinet Secretary Simon Case suggested in January 2021 that the ‘fear’ factor would be ‘vital’ in stopping the spread of the virus.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern Unexpectedly Resigned

Ardern was tearful when she made the announcement that she “lacks energy” to do the job ahead of an election later this year. She was in office for the last five years and steamrolled personal rights and liberties. She re-instituted a countrywide lockdown over a single case of COVID in August 2021, at the time when there was only a 20% vaccine compliance rate. She threatened unvaccinated citizens with being quarantined for at least an extra 14 days in isolation camps if they refuse being tested. She supported segregating unvaccinated citizens, and said they would be banned from “close contact” businesses like restaurants, bars and gyms. In December 2021, she candidly revealed that “there’s not going to be an end point to this vaccination program,” exposing an agenda of continual vaccination.

In 2022, she planned to tax cow flatulence and sheep urine in a net zero emissions plan that included a pledge to reduce methane emissions from farm animals up to 47% by 2050, which would affect food production. She called on citizens to report on each other and supported for a global alliance to censor speech.

.

.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, one of the best known and longest faces of the globalist menace that steamrolled all personal rights and liberties during the period of world history known as “covid fascism” while arresting countless non conformists just so she could impose universal lockdowns and to enable the CEOs of Pfizer and Moderna to become stinking rich, said she would step down by Feb. 7 after more than five years as leader because she “lacks the energy” to do the job ahead of an election later this year.

“I believe that leading a country is the most privileged job anyone could ever have, but also one of the more challenging,” a tearful Ardern said. “You cannot and should not do it unless you have a full tank plus a bit in reserve for those unexpected challenges.”

“I know what this job takes, and I know that I no longer have enough in the tank to do it justice,” the now former prime minister said. “But I absolutely believe and know there are others around me who do.”

.

.

She added: “This has been the most fulfilling five and a half years of my life. I am leaving because with such a privileged job comes a big responsibility.”

Opinion polls have shown Ardern’s center-left Labour Party trailing the opposition National party, although her own standing with voters was higher than other political leaders. Results of one survey released last month by 1 News Kantar showed support for Labour had fallen to 33%, from 41% around a year earlier. National topped that poll with 38%.

Translation: some huge scandal is about to emerge.

Air Pollution is Just as Dangerous as Coronavirus, Claims UK Lockdown Architect

England’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Chris Whitty, who held a similar position in the UK as Anthony Fauci in America, has warned that air pollution is as big of a health risk to the public as the COVID virus. He called on the public to confront and shame people who idle their cars, use wood-burning stoves, or reject compliance with government agendas. The government’s Behavioural Insights Team (BIT), unofficially referred to as the “Nudge Unit”, is being tasked to develop psychological means of persuading the public to fall in line with the green agenda. Some of the suggested changes from Whitty included the reduction of wood-fire stoves, moving towards the use of electric cars, and having farmers inject a slurry into the soil to prevent the spread of ammonia into the air. Climate change has been posed as a public health risk rather than the green ideology.

The British public needs to change their behaviour in order to reduce air pollution because it is as dangerous as the coronavirus, England’s Fauci equivalent has0 said.

Dr Chris Whitty, who led the government’s response during the Chinese coronavirus crisis along similar lines to Anthony Fauci in America, has warned that air pollution is as big of a health risk to the public as the virus, the Daily Mail reported.

“You have no choice about the air you breathe, when you go outside, when you walk down the road, when you go into public buildings, or come back to and therefore it’s quite important that the government takes it seriously and it has done so,” England’s Chief Medical Officer said in his annual report.

Whitty seemed keen on once again mobilising members of the public to shame those who refuse to comply with the government’s agenda, calling on people to confront people who idle their cars or use wood-burning stoves.

Climate Lockdowns: The ’15 Minute City’ Is a Quarantine Program for Neighborhoods

The 15 Minute City is a United Nations and World Economic Forum (WEF) plan designed so that people will drive less as household essentials will be accessible via a short 15-minute walk or bike ride. The green agenda program is taking inspiration from the tyrannical days of COVID lockdowns. The plans are coercive as strict rules will be placed on car journeys. It’s the social credit scheme that starts with your car and works like anti-frequent-flyer points. The 15 Minute City scheme has been found in Oxford, Brisbane, Melbourne, Barcelona, Paris, Portland and Buenos Aires.

A trial of the 15 Minute City will  begin in Oxfordshire County in 2024. Residents will be confined into one of six zones to ‘save the planet’ from global warming and will need permission to leave their zone. Cars will be monitored and electronic gates on key roads in and out of the city are planned. The plan will devastate businesses. The parties who benefit from the plan include Oxford University and the bus companies, and the council which expects to make £1.1m from fining errant drivers.

In the WEF’s own words — this rearrangement of cities is absolutely about climate change:

As climate change and global conflict cause shocks and stresses at faster intervals and increasing severity, the 15-minute city will become even more critical.

And the solution was the pandemic (they really say that):

The obvious, yet incomplete, answer is the pandemic…. with COVID-19 and its variants keeping everyone home (or closer to home than usual), the 15-minute city went from a “nice-to-have” to a rallying cry. Meeting all of one’s needs within a walking, biking or transit distance was suddenly a matter of life and death.

And then the dark hand of the totalitarian managers appears, as James Woudhuysen, warned in Spiked in late October:

The madness of the ‘15-minute city’

The green agenda is taking inspiration from the illiberal days of lockdown.

To this end, Oxfordshire County Council, which is run by Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party, wants to divide the city of Oxford into six ‘15 minute’ districts. In these districts, it is said, most household essentials will be accessible by a quarter-of-an-hour walk or bike ride, and so residents will have no need for a car.

On the surface, these 15-minute neigbourhoods might sound pleasant and convenient. But there is a coercive edge. The council plans to cut car use and traffic congestion by placing strict rules on car journeys.

Residents will have to register their cars with the council and they will be tracked to count their journeys through the key gateways. It’s the social credit scheme that starts with your car and works like anti-frequent-flyer points.

Under the new proposals, if any of Oxford’s 150,000 residents drives outside of their designated district more than 100 days a year, he or she could be fined £70.

The concept of the 15-minute city was born with ‘C40’. Chaired today by London mayor Sadiq Khan, C40 calls itself a ‘network of mayors of nearly 100 world-leading cities collaborating to deliver the urgent action needed right now to confront the climate crisis’.

Climate lockdowns? Seriously?

It all sounds a bit ridiculous to suggest a lockdown “for the climate” but listen to the BBC.  They’re working awfully hard to persuade us — they obviously think voters won’t want this. Here they are connecting the “15 Minute City” to the fun of covid lockdowns, and setting this up as though it’s totally normal for the government to decide who your friends are:

How ’15-minute cities’ will change the way we socialise

And furthermore lockdowns in Paris were great social moments where we all made friends. Who knew how much fun it would be to be told you couldn’t drive far?

.. for Fraioli, the two-month lockdown that began on 17 March – confining her to a 1km radius of her home – gave her a nuanced, enriching view of her neighbourhood. “I discovered it’s possible to feel like you’re in a small village in Paris,” she says. “To get to know your neighbours, to maintain good links with shopkeepers, to favour local craftsmen and shops over large supermarkets. I even joined a citizens’ movement where people prepare food baskets for homeless people. I thought I would have a hard time living the lockdown, but I was perfectly at home, in a quiet place.”

I don’t seem to recall “getting to know neighbours” as being part of any lockdown anywhere?

And lookout —  the 15 minute city is not just Oxford, but turning up in Brisbane, Melbourne, Barcelona, Paris, Portland and Buenos Aires. It’s everywhere.

China: Crowds Angered by Lockdowns Call for President Xi to Resign

Three years after the virus emerged, China is the only major country still trying to stop transmission of Covid-19 through quarantine. Its “zero COVID” strategy has suspended access to neighborhoods for weeks at a time, leaving them without food and medicine. The current protests erupted after a fire broke out Thursday and killed at least 10 people in an apartment building in the city of Urumqi, where some have been locked in their homes for four months. Locked doors may have blocked people trying to escape and stopped firefighters from gaining access to the building. Protesters are clashing with the police as the protests spread.

Protesters angered by strict anti-virus measures called for China’s powerful leader to resign, an unprecedented rebuke as authorities in at least eight cities struggled to suppress demonstrations Sunday that represent a rare direct challenge to the ruling Communist Party.

Police using pepper spray drove away demonstrators in Shanghai who called for Xi Jinping to step down and an end to one-party rule, but hours later people rallied again in the same spot. Police again broke up the demonstration, and a reporter saw protesters under arrest being driven away in a bus.

The protests — which began Friday and have spread to cities including the capital, Beijing, and dozens of university campuses — are the most widespread show of opposition to the ruling party in decades.

In a video of the protest in Shanghai verified by The Associated Press, chants against Xi, the most powerful leader since at least the 1980s, and the Chinese Communist Party sounded loud and clear: “Xi Jinping! Step down! CCP! Step down!”

Three years after the virus emerged, China is the only major country still trying to stop transmission of Covid-19. Its “zero COVID” strategy has suspended access to neighborhoods for weeks at a time. Some cities carry out daily virus tests on millions of residents.

The Atlantic Calls For ‘Pandemic Amnesty’ to ‘Forgive One Another’ for Actions During COVID

The Atlantic magazine, which last year called for the unvaccinated to be put on the No-Fly List and treated like domestic terrorists, is now calling for a “pandemic amnesty” where everyone will “forgive one another” for what they “did and said” when they “were in the dark about COVID.” The author of the article who is calling for amnesty teaches a class about COVID policies at Brown University and advocated for COVID ‘vaccine’ requirements (aka vaccine passports) to travel, work and participate in society! People died from toxic experimental COVID jabs, endured lockdowns that ruined economies and caused massive job loss, were coerced to take COVID vaccines, mask mandates, discrimination and shaming. Vaccine mandates for employment and censorship continue to today.

David Knight pointed out that in order to rectify the injustice, ’emergency’ orders, especially the one issued by former President Trump, need to be terminated. He called for indictments of people who violated their oath to the Constitution, the restitution of stolen money and return of jobs, reforms to prevent tyrannical policies in the future, and terminating state laws modeled on the Emergency State Powers Act that allowed health officials to usurp power.

From The Atlantic:

Let’s Declare a Pandemic Amnesty

We need to forgive one another for what we did and said when we were in the dark about COVID.

By Emily Oster
OCTOBER 31, 2022, 6 AM ET

In April 2020, with nothing else to do, my family took an enormous number of hikes. We all wore cloth masks that I had made myself. We had a family hand signal, which the person in the front would use if someone was approaching on the trail and we needed to put on our masks. Once, when another child got too close to my then-4-year-old son on a bridge, he yelled at her “SOCIAL DISTANCING!”

These precautions were totally misguided. In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldn’t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didn’t know.

were silenced, censored and smeared for it.

I have been reflecting on this lack of knowledge thanks to a class I’m co-teaching at Brown University on COVID. We’ve spent several lectures reliving the first year of the pandemic, discussing the many important choices we had to make under conditions of tremendous uncertainty.

3 California Courts Ruled Against Gov. Newsom and State Govt. COVID Business Lockdown Orders

Three California courts, in one week, ruled in favor of the people of California and the United States Constitution, against the government over state ordered COVID lockdowns. California courts are ruling that the government may have overstepped its authority when they followed Gavin Newsom’s shut down orders. The cases can move forward and begin discovery. The first case involves a church that was shut down, but Newsom overstepped his constitutional authority. The second case involves an Orange County nail salon; the 2nd court ruled that since Newsom picked which businesses were allowed to remain open in order to “flatten the curve,” the government may be liable for the damages those businesses suffered as a result of following the governor’s order. In the third case, the Tinhorn Flats restaurant alleges that it was targeted because it expressed its opposition to Newsom’s shutdown orders.

The third California court in a week has ruled in favor of the people of California and the United States Constitution, against the government over state ordered Covid lockdowns. California courts are ruling that the government may have overstepped its authority when they followed Gavin Newsom’s shut down orders, according to Constitutional Attorney and U.S. Senate candidate Mark Meuser. The cases can move forward and begin discovery.

The Globe spoke with Meuser about these three groundbreaking judicial decisions. “Any one of these cases is interesting,” Meuser told the Globe. “But three in one week is huge!”

Meuser said the in the San Jose Calvary Chapel case, the 1st court ruled that courts can’t sanction a church for refusing to shut down since it was later determined that Newsom overstepped his constitutional authority in shutting down churches. Meuser said the Governor and state government never had the authority to shut down churches.

In the Orange County nail salon case, the 2nd court ruled that since Newsom picked which businesses were allowed to remain open in order to “flatten the curve,” the government may be liable for the damages those businesses suffered as a result of following the governor’s order. Meuser said the nail salon lawsuit used the “commandeering law” to address when the government seizes a business. If government made the decision to use your property and fight the emergency, the government has to pay fair market value for it. When Gov. Newsom decided which businesses would be locked down and which were not, that was commandeering the locked down businesses.

Nail salons sued the governor in May 2020, the Globe reported. The Center for American Liberty and Dhillon Law Group, representing the Professional Beauty Federation of California, salon owner Rosie Ibarra and other salon owners, filed a lawsuit against California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, California Public Health Officer Sonia Angel, and 12 members of the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, for violating the civil rights, right to due process, and the constitutional right to earn a living.

In the Los Angeles Tinhorn Flats restaurant case, a 3rd court ruled that businesses are allowed to sue the government for targeting them because they were vocal in opposing Newsom’s shutdown orders.
