WHO Calls for Masking, Physical Distancing Over ‘Mystery’ Illness

The World Health Organization (WHO) is telling Chinese citizens to wear face masks, keep physical distance, and stay home amid an outbreak of a “mystery respiratory illness.” Media reports claim hospitals in Beijing and Liaoning are overwhelmed with cases of “undiagnosed pneumonia” primarily affecting kids. Chinese officials first announced the outbreak on November 13th, which they reportedly blamed on the absence of lockdown restrictions. China later told a WHO probe that no new pathogen was responsible, and blamed the surge on common winter bugs that are hitting harder than usual due to lowered immunity from COVID restrictions.

Despite the assurance, the United Kingdom has signaled it may be considering a return to mandates like forced masking in response.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is telling Chinese citizens to wear face masks, keep physical distance, and stay home amid an outbreak of a “mystery respiratory illness.”

Media reports say hospitals in Beijing and Liaoning are overwhelmed with cases of “undiagnosed pneumonia” primarily affecting kids. The children are presenting symptoms of lung inflammation and high fever, but not the coughing associated with COVID-19, RSV or other illnesses.

Chinese officials first announced the outbreak on November 13th, which they reportedly blamed on the absence of lockdown restrictions. The WHO has asked that Chinese people distance themselves from each other, stay home if they feel unwell, and return to masking. Classes are on the verge of being suspended as more children become infected.

In response to a demand from WHO officials that the Chinese government share “detailed information” on the illness, Chinese authorities said it is not a new virus but common winter illnesses causing the hospitalizations. The bugs are hitting harder due to lowered immune systems caused by pandemic restrictions.

“Chinese authorities advised that there has been no detection of any unusual or novel pathogens or unusual clinical presentations,” read an update from the WHO.

Nevertheless, the United Kingdom has signaled it may be considering a return to mandates like forced masking.

“We need to keep an open mind about the cause of any increased reporting of clusters of disease including of this illness in Chinese children,” said UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Professor Dame Jenny Harries, adding that UKHSA will “respond as more information becomes available.”

Harries has been leading an effort to develop a vaccine for the next pandemic which she said would be caused by “climate change.” Scientists in a British high-security laboratory have been developing vaccines for a new pandemic involving “Disease X.”

“What we’re seeing is a rising risk globally,” said Harries, adding, “And some of it is because of climate change where you get things like ticks and mosquitoes moving to where it was previously cold and is now becoming increasingly warm.”

Spain’s Top Court Rules that Stay-At-Home Lockdown Was Unconstitutional

Spain’s top court has ruled that the country’s COVID-19 stay-at-home lockdown is unconstitutional. During the first six weeks of the lockdown, stay-at-home measures were so strict that Spaniards weren’t even allowed to go outside to exercise or walk their dogs. People were issued fines of €2,000 euros for “disrespecting” (resisting) a police officer during lockdown. Legal experts said until the court’s full decision is released, it won’t be clear if the ruling will open the gates to lawsuits against the government from the thousands of citizens who were unconstitutionally fined. GEG

Spain’s top court has ruled that the country’s national COVID-19 lockdown was unconstitutional following a lawsuit filed by the populist Vox party.

“While leaving intact most of the state of emergency’s terms, the court said that the key articles ordering the population off the streets except for shorts trips for shopping and unavoidable commutes for work and other official business were unconstitutional,” reports the Associated Press.

“According to TVE, the ruling said that the limitations on movement violated citizens´ basic rights and therefore the state of emergency was insufficient to give them constitutional backing. The six magistrates said that a state of exception, which does allow the government to suspend basic rights, would have been necessary.”

During the first six weeks of the lockdown, stay at home measures were so strict that Spaniards weren’t even allowed to go outside to exercise or walk their dogs.

In one case, police were called after a neighbor spotted two brothers playing soccer in their own back yard.

As we previously highlighted, Spain’s lockdown laws were so draconian that at one point authorities briefly told citizens that wearing masks while swimming in the sea was mandatory.

For many months during hot weather, wearing masks in every outdoor setting, even on beaches, was compulsory.

Holland: Police Turn Water Cannons on Anti-Lockdown Protesters

Eindhoven, Holland: Thousands of citizens engaged in demonstrations last week, following the imposition of a nationwide 9 pm curfew, even though the number of Covid cases had been plummeting. A police truck turned its water cannon on a young woman, Denisa Stastna, who sustained a fractured skull and a head wound when she was hurled against a concrete wall. Police said she was targeted because she and her boyfriend ignored instructions to leave an area of the city where anti-curfew protests had been underway for several hours. The press is portraying this as massive rioting and violence, but we notice from the images attached to this news story that – just as in the US – the number of violent rioters and looters are few in number, all dressed alike, and could be agent provocateurs hired to throw bricks, break windows, set fires, and turn public opinion against those who resist lockdown. Nethertlanders don’t do that sort of thing, only professional agitators. The mayor declared that his country is ‘heading toward civil war’. -GEG

Woman sprayed by police water cannon suffers fractured skull.

Anti-lockdown demos in the Netherlands this week have generated many shocking images. But there is one that may yet become iconic.

During a protest against the imposition of a nationwide 9pm curfew in Eindhoven last Sunday, a police truck turned its water cannon on a young woman who was hurled against a concrete wall so hard that she appeared to bounce off it.

She slumped to the ground and was photographed with blood pouring down her face. The woman, later named as Denisa Stastna, sustained a fractured skull and a head wound that required more than 15 stitches.

According to police, she was targeted because she and her boyfriend ignored repeated instructions to leave an area of the city where anti-curfew protests had been raging for several hours.

A video of the incident quickly went viral, one of many shared online by a public stunned by the sudden eruption of violence in a country long renowned for being one of the most liberal, tolerant and civilised in the world.

This week thousands of its normally law-abiding citizens have engaged in an orgy of rioting and looting, attacking police with Molotov cocktails, fireworks and any projectiles that came to hand. More than 400 people have been arrested and 5,700 fines imposed.

And it surely begs the question: if a peace-loving nation such as Holland can be driven to such extremes by an increasingly authoritarian approach to policing the pandemic and relentless lockdowns, can we expect to see similar scenes on the streets throughout Europe?

California Governor Newsom Follows New York, Michigan, and Chicago in Lifting Stay-At-Home Orders

Days after Joe Biden was seated as President, Democrat governors who previously issued severe shutdown orders are easing restrictions. Now that Democrats are in power, apparently the virus threat suddenly has decreased. Democrat politicians all over the nation simultaneously have come to the same conclusion. Meanwhile, businesses still are closing and the resulting poverty is creating greater dependence on government welfare. More than 50 California restaurants and wineries have sued against the lockdowns that have caused over 900,000 people to lose their jobs. Many believe that Governor Newsom’s reversal of policy is linked to the effort to recall him. Organizers have until mid-March to gather 1.5-million signatures to force a recall against Newsom, and 1.2-million already are recorded.

State officials say the decision to lift the stay-at-home order is in response to improving trends in the infection rate, but they have not made the data public because doing so, they say, would confuse and mislead the public. [In other words, the data would be confusing and misleading!] -GEG

Isn’t it amazing how all of the lockdowns can now be lifted now that Donald Trump is no longer president?

It has been less than a week since Joe Biden was inaugurated, and COVID restrictions are being ended in Michigan, Chicago, California and New York.  What an odd coincidence, eh?

Now that Democrats are running everything, it turns out that there is no longer any need for such fear-based control mechanisms.  At this point, we are being told that happy days are here again and that the next four years are going to be just great.

Of course the economic devastation that was caused by all of the lockdowns is going to be with us for a while.  The lockdowns permanently destroyed more than 100,000 small businesses, they plunged us into the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s, and they sent suicide rates skyrocketing all over the globe.

But at least our rightful rulers are now back in control, and so it was a small sacrifice to make.

Sometimes I use sarcasm to express my frustrations, and there is much to be frustrated about these days.

After putting Michigan residents through hell for most of 2020, two days after Biden was inaugurated Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that the restrictions in her state would start to be lifted

Mayor of Sandy, Oregon, Tells Residents to Ignore Governor’s Covid-19 Policies. Business Owner Sues Governor for Terrorizing Her Family

Stan Pulliam, the Mayor of Sandy, Oregon, blasted Democratic Governor Kate Brown’s orders when a state of emergency was declared until March 3, 2021. The previous executive order was set to expire on Jan. 2, 2021. Lindsey Graham, owner of Glamour Salon in Salem, Oregon, filed at $100,000 lawsuit against Governor Brown for “terrorizing” her family when she ignored the state’s lockdown orders. According to Graham, three days after she opened her salon, Child Protective Services showed up at her home and interviewed her children without her presence. -GEG

A Republican mayor in Oregon is encouraging business owners to defy the state’s coronavirus restrictions.

Stan Pulliam, the mayor of Sandy, Ore., blasted Democratic Gov. Kate Brown’s orders after a state of emergency was declared until March 3, 2021. The previous executive order was set to expire on Jan. 2, 2021.

“I think all Oregonians should take pause, stand up and say ‘this must stop,’” Pulliam told “America’s Newsroom” on Wednesday.

A salon owner also accused the Oregon governor of “retaliating” and “terrorizing” her family as she faces a $100,000 lawsuit for defying the state’s lockdown orders. Lindsey Graham of Glamour Salon argued Brown is acting like “a dictator.”

Both the Oregon mayor and salon owner said they continued to receive death threats for resisting the coronavirus restrictions. Pulliam called on businesses to ignore the statewide coronavirus orders and remain open.

Dr. Birx Warned Americans Not to Travel For Thanksgiving, But She Traveled For Thanksgiving

White House coronavirus coordinator, Dr. Deborah Birx, traveled to meet family at her vacation home on Fenwick Island in Delaware during Thanksgiving after warning Americans to avoid doing the same. Birx claimed the family members were all part of her “immediate household,” but that is ot true. All of those family members who gathered together do not live in the same home. Speaking of Thanksgiving travel, the doctor previously urged Americans to “take it upon yourself to be restrictive” and not meet with people outside one household. Birx’s own relative Kathleen Flynn told the AP that her behavior had caused tension within the family, because she clearly had violated her own guidance.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom similarly was caught for his attending a dinner party at an upscale French restaurant on Nov. 6. San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo was caught attending Thanksgiving at his parent’s house. [Any questions?] -GEG

White House coronavirus response Dr. Deborah Birx traveled to meet family during Thanksgiving after warning Americans to avoid doing the same in yet another example of rampant COVID hypocrisy.

According to an Associated Press report, Birx traveled to her vacation home on Fenwick Island in Delaware the day after Thanksgiving to gather with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.

Birx claimed the family members were all part of her “immediate household,” but all of those family members do not live in the same home.

The doctor had previously urged Americans to “take it upon yourself to be restrictive” when it came to Thanksgiving travel and not meet with people from outside one household.

Staten Island Bar Owner Defying Covid Restrictions Drags Sheriff Deputy on Hood of His Jeep

Staten Island, New York: Danny Presti of Mac’s Public House declared his bar an “autonomous zone,” allowing patrons to eat and drink inside even though indoor dining is prohibited by authorities. Sheriff deputies already arrested him once last Tuesday. On Sunday, Presti was arrested again for allegedly ramming his Jeep into a sheriff’s deputy who was trying to arrest him for defying coronavirus restrictions.

The sheriff alleges that, when officers tried to arrest Presti again, he ran to his car, dragged an officer 100 yards, and broke both of the sergeant’s legs. Presti’s attorney, who provided the video, says the images from a surveillance video clearly show his client running for his life, claiming deputies were in unmarked cars, never identified themselves, and clearly jumped on the hood of the Presti’s car. The attorney also disputed the severity of the officer’s injuries. Sheriff Joe Fucito said the officers who initiated the arrest were “in full police uniform and identified themselves as law enforcement officers.”

Ten charges were levied against Presti including assault, but released later Sunday on his own recognizance without bail. He said the fight isn’t over, but the bar will be closed the next few days to regroup. -GEG

There’s new video of an incident involving a Staten Island bar owner and sheriff’s deputies that ended with him under arrest.

That man was already facing charges of ignoring COVID restrictions.

He says he did nothing wrong in his latest run-in with the law.

As CBS2’s Christina Fan reports, newly released surveillance shows the moment Danny Presti of Mac’s Public House allegedly ramming his Jeep into a sheriff’s deputy trying to arrest him for defying coronavirus restrictions.

The criminal complaint accuses Presti of acting with “depraved indifference to human life,” his attorney, who provided the video, says the images clearly show his client running for his life.

“Two big burly officers came out between a parked car from behind him and yelled ‘Presti, hey Presti,’ and started running at him. That’s what started the whole set of events,” said attorney Lou Gelormino.

Presti has been at odds with the sheriff’s office and city since he declared his bar an “autonomous zone,” allowing patrons to eat and drink inside even though indoor dining is prohibited in orange zones.

Fauci Slammed For Finally Admitting Schools Should Be Open

Dr. Anthony Fauci was slammed this week for finally admitting that schools should have been open despite coronavirus restrictions, with critics charging that children have been subjected to eight months of hell for no good reason. Rand Paul commented that the data showed six months ago that schools were not a danger, as the child mortality rate is only one in a million, and the schools should have been reopened. The senator said that biased policies have yet to decrease the number of reported cases, which may signify that the policies are not working.  Paul is calling for an apology from Fauci to parents. Fauci is the last kid on the block to finally advocate for reopening schools, as he tries to regain his position at the head of the parade as the chief authority on Covid-19.

Lockdown zealot Dr. Anthony Fauci was slammed this week for finally admitting that schools should have been open despite coronavirus restrictions, with critics charging that children have been subjected to eight months of hell for no good reason.

During a Sunday appearance on ABC’s “This Week”, Fauci stated that “The default position should be to try as best as possible, within reason, to keep the children in school, to get them back to school.”

Anti-Lockdown Protests Across Europe

The “second wave” of the “pandemic” is the excuse for Draconian lockdown measures, economic destitution, and sweeping police powers that are causing public trust to disappear. Tens of thousands of people in Berlin, Germany, protested against Merkel’s new lockdown orders, and police turned water cannons on the crowds. The Prime Minister of Spain declared a six-month state of emergency in late October that spurred days of protests across the country. Angry marches took place across France resulting from Emmanuel Macron’s brand new “comprehensive security law,” known as the ‘gag law,’ that makes it a crime to capture or distribute the image of a police officer. Tens of thousands also have demonstrated across Italy. The people of Slovakia marched against the government despite bans against public gatherings. Denmark’s parliament was subject to 9 days of protests right outside its doors in opposition to the proposed “vaccination law”, which would allow the police to “physically coerce vaccination through detainment”. There were reports that Denmark’s law was revoked, but there is no evidence to prove that this is true. The media either demonizes anti-lockdown protesters or ignores them altogether. -GEG

As the alleged “second wave” of the Coronavirus “pandemic” is reported to be sweeping across Europe in recent weeks, many governments have enthusiastically embraced their totalitarian side and granted themselves sweeping new “emergency powers” alongside new lockdown measures.

The public has been markedly less co-operative this time around. Rebelling against the seemingly arbitrary limitations which are not supported by either science or common sense. Protests have taken place all across the continent.

Germany

Thousands of people gathered in Berlin over the last few days, protesting the Merkel government passing a new lockdown law. Police turned water cannons on the crowds, and nearly 200 people were arrested.

The mainstream reported “hundreds” of protesters, but as pictures plainly show it was more like tens of thousands:

Spain

After the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez declared a sixth-month state of emergency in late October, there were days of protests across the country.

Barcelona, already a hot-bed of anti-government feeling due to the brutal repression of the Catalan Independence referendum, saw violent confrontations between riot police and protestors

New York: Erie County Sheriffs Were Compelled to Abandon Their Attempt to Shutdown Meeting of Business Owners

A group of local business owners met at a CrossFit gym near Buffalo, New York, on Friday night to discuss how to navigate the state’s new COVID-19 guidelines that limit hours, number of customers, and access to their establishments. Several Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies and Health Department officials came inside and attempted to disperse the crowd claiming the meeting was in violation of Governor Cuomo’s new 10-person-or-less rule for public gatherings. The crowd stood its ground and demanded the police and county workers leave because they were on private property and not welcome. Law enforcement complied, apparently because they did not have an arrest warrant. -GEG

New York: Sheriff Rejects Governor Cuomo’s Thanksgiving Rules and Says They Are Unconstitutional

New York: At least three sheriffs in New York are refusing to enforce Governor Cuomo’s 10-person holiday limit for private gatherings over Thanksgiving. Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino, a former judge and district attorney, said, “Constitutionally, there are some problems with an executive order. There’s no sanctions, I can’t go arrest somebody, they don’t get fined.”

Sheriff Giardino said that he felt compelled to make a public statement because mental health cases have doubled since last year and there is a high level of anxiety. He said that the job of local law enforcement is to protect and serve its citizens, not to enter their homes to enforce limits on visits with family members.

California Governor Newsom Announces ‘Restrictions’ on 94% of the State’s Population

Democrat California Governor Newsom “pulled the emergency brake” and put 41 out of 58 counties, comprising over 94% of the state’s population, in the purple tier that does not allow indoor operations for places like museums, houses of worship, gyms and restaurants. California is also strengthening its face covering “guidance” to require people to wear a mask whenever outside their home, with limited exceptions. He said a curfew is being considered.

A recent court ruling against Newsom resulted in a Permanent Injunction that restrains him from issuing further unconstitutional orders and from creating new laws. This ruling serves as a precedent to challenge the lockdown. Only the legislature has the ability to make laws. ‘Restrictions’ and ‘requirements’ based on guidance by the health authority are not statutory laws.

According to this report, the national rate for people testing positive for Covid-19 is 9.8%. California’s positivity rate increased from 3% to 4.6%, which is still less than half of the national rate.

Newsom was caught violating his own restrictions when he attended a dinner party at the French Laundry restaurant with a group of people, including California Medical Association officials, who were not practicing social distancing or wearing masks. Prior to this incident, Newsom recommended wearing masks at restaurants in between eating bites of food.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Monday that most California counties will soon be in the state’s most restrictive COVID-19 tier amid a surge in cases and that the state is considering a curfew.

“California is pulling an emergency brake,” he said in announcing that 41 counties, which comprise over 94% of the state’s population, will be in the purple tier, effective Tuesday. Last week, 13 counties were in the state’s most restrictive tier.

“We are sounding the alarm,” Newsom said in a statement. “California is experiencing the fastest increase in cases we have seen yet — faster than what we experienced at the outset of the pandemic or even this summer. The spread of COVID-19, if left unchecked, could quickly overwhelm our health care system and lead to catastrophic outcomes.”

When counties are in the purple tier, indoor operations for places like museums, houses of worship, gyms and restaurants are not allowed. When counties move into the less restrictive red tier, they can resume indoor operations at several businesses — but with modifications.
