Grooming ‘Epidemic’: Almost 19,000 Children Identified as Rape, Sexual Assault and Exploitation Victims in England

The Department of Education revealed that more than 18,700 suspected victims of child sexual exploitation were identified by local authorities in England in 2018-19, a major increase from 3,300 reported in 2013. The Home Secretary noted that most abusers in high-profile grooming cases were of Pakistani heritage. They targeted vulnerable girls, particularly those in care (foster homes), on welfare or with learning difficulties. Every seven minutes in the UK an alleged crime is committed against a child, including rape and sexual assault, amounting to a total of 76,204 crimes against children reported in the UK during 2018 -2019.

A charity has called for a “radical rethink” of efforts to prevent sexual grooming after The Independent revealed that almost 19,000 victims have been identified in a year.

The NSPCC said victims may be left struggling for the rest of their lives with the trauma of their abuse.

“We are facing a nationwide crisis in the help available for thousands of children who have often suffered the most appalling abuse,” a spokesperson said.

“The insidious tactics used by groomers means these young people often don’t recognise what’s happening to them is abuse.

“We need to see more effort to improve our understanding of the motives and tactics of groomers to prevent abuse from happening in the first place.

“And we need a radical rethink in the way we help these young people targeted by groomers.”

The NSPCC is calling for more “joined-up support” from police forces, local NHS services and children’s services to identify victims and prevent abuse.

Several grooming cases brought to court have revealed abusers targeting vulnerable girls, particularly those in care or supported accommodation, or with learning difficulties.

Figures published by the Department for Education showed that more than 18,700 suspected victims of child sexual exploitation were identified by local authorities in England in 2018-19.

Campaigners said the true figure was far higher and accused the government of failing to tackle child sexual exploitation, despite promises made after high-profile cases in Rotherham and Rochdale.

Separate analysis by the NSPCC found that recorded sexual offences against children had reached an all-time high in 2018-19.

There were 76,204 alleged crimes, including rape and sexual assault against children in the UK – an average of one every seven minutes.

Sarah Champion, the Labour MP for Rotherham, said the figures show that grooming “remains one of the largest forms of child abuse in the country”.

“The government has singularly failed to tackle this issue head on. Its approach has been piecemeal and underfunded,” she told The Independent.

Sammy Woodhouse, a Rotherham victim who helped expose the scandal, said she is still receiving reports of current abuse in parts of the country.

“You hear this bulls**t line, ‘lessons have been learned’, but they haven’t learned anything,” she added.

“I’ve said for years that this country’s in epidemic when it comes to abuse and exploitation. Authorities claim it’s under control but it’s not.”

Sajid Javid promised a review into the characteristics of grooming gangs in 2018, saying high-profile cases included a “high proportion of men of Pakistani heritage” and that “cultural reasons” could be at play.

UK: A Young Girl Was Forced into Sex with 100 Men from a Muslim Grooming Gang Beginning at Age 13

UK: A woman testified at the Rotherham rape trial that she was raped by an estimated 100 men beginning when she was 13 years old until she was 16. The eight men on trial are described in the press as ‘Asians’ but actually are Pakistani Muslims. The trial continues. -GEG

Young girl was ‘passed around and had sex with 100 Asian men by age of 16’, child sex abuse trial hears

  • Victim said she ‘fell’ for her abuser when he made her feel special

  • Men would ‘demand’ to meet the victim, who was 13 when the abuse started

  • Defendants face a total of 28 counts of sexual abuse of five girls in Rotherham

A young girl was ‘passed around’ and had sex with 100 men by the time she was 16, jurors in a child sex abuse trial were told.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims the abuse she suffered between 1998 and 2001 began when she was just 13 years old.

Her account was given in a video interview played at the trial of eight Asian men accused of the sexual abuse of five girls over a five-year period from 1998 to 2003.

Tanweer Ali (left) and Mohammed Imran Ali Akhtar (right) both stand accused of indecently assaulting the girl between 1998 and 2001

The men were arrested and charged as part of Operation Stovewood , an investigation into sexual abuse which was launched after the Rotherham grooming scandal.

On Friday (Sept 7), Sheffield Crown Court heard how her number would be passed around between the men – with others then ‘demanding’ to meet her.

She said: ‘I can honestly say that by the age of 16 I had slept with 100 Asian men – some I didn’t see again.

‘The ones who come and use you for one time are the ones who are hard to remember.

‘As soon as you get to know them your number gets passed around.

‘Asian lads demanding to meet you – then you meet a new group and it went on like that.

‘I didn’t know at the time I was being passed around when I was 13 but I know now I’m older.’

Migrant Grooming Gangs in Holland Are Preying on Dutch Girls

Each year, about 1,400 underage Dutch girls are blackmailed into sex slavery by young migrants, known as ‘loverboys’, who charm the teens into becoming sex partners, photograph them and then coerce them into prostitution. The men are mostly Moroccans, Turks, Caribbeans, and Roma. The vulnerable girls often come from an unstable home of lower social class. Police, social workers and charities ignore the problem out of fear of being called racist, as most grooming gangs are Muslim migrants.

Oxford, England: Seven Muslim Men Convicted on Underage Sex Ring Charges

Seven Muslim men were convicted on charges ranging from false imprisonment to rape and assault.  The five victims were between 13 and 15 years old at the time, and it was reported that the gang preyed on girls who had a background of problems at home.  The men exploited the young girls on a massive scale that included gang rape. The men await sentencing, which is set for June. -GEG

Seven men have been found guilty of grooming and raping underage girls aged 13 to 17, plying them with drink and drugs and abusing them at sex “parties” and in a van known as the “shag wagon”.

The seven-man grooming gang was described as “predatory and cynical” by a judge as the jury announced their decision on Friday following a five-month trial at Oxford Crown Court.

The men, aged between 37 and 48, denied what prosecutors described as “sexual exploitation on a massive scale” — but were found guilty of charges including multiple counts of rape, indecent assault, false imprisonment, and supplying drugs.

Reporting on the gang of what the BBC described as “Oxford men” was previously restricted, and two men involved in the trial still cannot be named for legal reasons.

The guilty men were named as Assad Hussain, 37, of Morrell Avenue; Moinul Islam, 41, of Wykeham Crescent; Raheem Ahmed, 40, of Starwort Path; Kamran Khan, 36, of Kersington Crescent; Kameer Iqbal, 39, of Dashwood Avenue; Alladitta Yousaf, 48, of Bodley Road; and Khalid Hussain,  38, of Ashurst Way.

Two others, Saboor Abdul and Haji Khan, were acquitted of all charges.

Six of the attackers were from Oxford and one from Bolton, Thames Valley Police said. Their five “vulnerable female victims” were aged 13 to 17 when they were abused from 1998 and 2005.

“Systematic and widespread grooming, that is what this case has revealed,” remarked Judge Peter Ross, who presided over the trial.

UK: Pakistani Men Grooming Young White Girls for Sex Rings

Rotherham, UK: An investigation by the UK Express reveals that young white girls are being groomed by gangs of predominantly Pakistani men who rape them on an “industrial scale” because law enforcement fails to prosecute the men.  Police and council workers are ignoring the issue for fear of being branded racist. Witness intimidation is another factor.  Eighteen months ago, the government’s National Crime Agency was given $13 million to investigate the problem. No one so far has been punished. –GEG

GROOMING of young girls by gangs of predominantly Kashmiri men is still occurring on an “industrial scale” in Rotherham because authorities are failing to tackle an organised child sex crime racket, an investigation by express.co.uk has uncovered.

Express.co.uk has pieced together shocking testimony from victims, campaigners and local residents in a large-scale investigation series being revealed throughout this week. They all told us how police and the local council is still “failing” thousands of vulnerable girls.

It reveals how organised, criminal gangs of paedophiles are still using the town as their own personal fiefdom, peddling underage girls for sex as part of a multi-million pound crime empire.

The men are predominantly from the city of Mirpur in the disputed region of Kashmir, on the border between Pakistan and India.

Express.co.uk has chosen to refer to the abusers as Kashmiri or Mirpuri after hearing how many mainstream British Pakistanis are disgusted by the actions of a few men from those communities.

Today an investigation by this website lifts the lid on the shocking scale of abuse still going on in Rotherham, two years after a landmark report into the scandal ruled police and council workers had ignored the issue for fear of being branded racist.

Professor Alexis Jay’s astonishing probe revealed at least 1,400 girls were groomed by sex gangs between 1997 and 2013, and unearthed a series of scandalous failings by local authorities.

A recent follow-up report, published by Professor John Drew in March, concluded that the police are now “adequately” tackling child grooming and that historic failures had been “isolated”.

But testimony, pieced together from independent sources, paints a starkly different picture of the authorities’ response.

A number of people who gave evidence to Professor Drew’s inquiry expressed open dismay at his findings and told us the grooming of girls is as bad now as it has ever been.

And many have told Express.co.uk of their outright anger the police and local council workers have not done more to crack down on the grooming gangs.

One victim, who we have called Ellie to protect her identity, said: “Raping of white girls by these men is still going on. Some, I know, have had to wait months before they’re even asked to give a statement [to the police]. It’s shockingly bad still.”

Muslim Rape Gangs in UK Protected by Political Correctness in Spite Of Having Victemized One-million Children

Muslim rape gangs, known as ‘grooming gangs’, have sexually assaulted as many as one-million Caucasian children in Great Britain since the late 1980s. Girls, as young as nine years old are lured to the gangs with drugs and groomed to become drug-addicted prostitutes and subjected to gang rape. They are threatened with death if they try to flee. The media and childcare professionals are cowed into silence by the fear of being called racist. Despite some arrests, the gangs are still operating.
