Senator Rand Paul’s ‘Festivus’ Report Documents Over $428 BILLION in Government Waste

Senator Rand Paul’s 2022 Festivus report highlights $482,276,543,907 in government waste and includes $2.3 million used by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for an experiment involving injecting puppies with cocaine, the NIH also spent $519,000 using mice to study racial aggression, the Department of Defense (DOD) wasted $28 million on “camouflage” uniforms that did not work, $1.7 billion was spent maintaining empty federal buildings, $168 million was used to help illegal aliens avoid deportation, and more.

Sen. Paul said that in 2019 there were 15 European countries, out of 26, that had budget surpluses. This shows that it is possible to balance a budget.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Friday continued the annual tradition of celebrating “Festivus,” airing out his many grievances as it relates to government waste.

Paul’s 2022 Festivus report highlights $482,276,543,907 in government waste and includes $2.3 million used by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for an experiment involving injecting puppies with cocaine, $202,000 used by the Department of Defense (DOD) on Starbucks espresso machines, and $3 million for the construction of a Gandhi museum.

This will be the 10th year in a row that I’ve celebrated #Festivus with you. By celebrated I mean have a little fun at the expense of Washington. If we don’t laugh we might cry,” Paul wrote before sharing some of the highlights of the report to his social media page and invoking the infamous Seinfeld quote from Frank Costanza, “I’ve got a lot of problems with you people!”

Republican Senator Rand Paul has an annual tradition of revealing how much money the US government wastes in what he calls ‘Festivus airing of grievances.’ Senator Paul unleashed a tweetstorm linking to his waste report that accuses the US government of squandering over $50-billion dollars in 2019 on outrageous programs. Some of the spending included: $466,991 on studying frog mating calls in Panama, $1.2-million on the studying habits of online dating app users, tens of millions spent ‘green growth’ for Peru, $22-million spent on bringing Serbian cheese up to international standards, and more. Paul wrote, “These are only a few examples, but you get the idea. But we couldn’t possibly cut spending right? No waste here, no sir!”

Rand Paul Published His Annual ‘Festivus’ Waste Report

Senator Rand Paul released his annual ‘Festivus’ Waste Report that shines a light on how lawmakers are outrageously spending taxpayer money and running up debt that is now approaching $22 billion.  Highlights include: providing over $76 million in stipends to soldiers in the Somali National Army, devoting over $650,000 to develop a drama series to air in Afghanistan, spending more than $2.4 million to study daydreaming, and setting aside $18 million to support tourism in Egypt.

Ahh yes, it’s that time year of again. Where families gather ’round the smartphone or laptop to scroll through Rand Paul’s twitter feed during his annual Airing Of The Grievances.
