New York City To Pay $6.88 Million to 320 BLM Protesters for 2020 Protests and Riots
In June 2020, police were accused of using force, including batons and pepper spray, during a BLM protest. NYC has agreed to pay a total of $6.88 million to more than 300 BLM protesters, with each receiving $21,500 in compensation. Critics point out that the BLM protesters were often violent and provoked police.
