Media Deceptively Edits 911 Call & Video of Police Shooting a Knife-Wielding Teen Girl
Columbus, Ohio: Police responded to a call requesting help for an attempted stabbing at a home owned by a woman who provides foster care for children and teens. When police arrived, there was a group of young people in the front yard involved in an argument. Ma’Khia Bryant, a 16-year old Black girl, charged at another girl, knocking her to the ground. The fallen victim was then kicked in the head by a male. Bryant, swinging a knife, then lunged at another female when the officer shot Bryant four times and killed her just in time to prevent the stabbing. The media, led by the New York Times and the Washington Post, neglected to inform in their tweets and early reports that Bryant was armed and threatened two other teens with a knife. NBC News pushed the ‘unarmed’ lie with a deceptive edit of the 911 call to remove a reference to the attempted stabbing, and NBC stopped the video right before it shows the teen is holding a knife. The Columbus Police Department released the officer’s bodycam footage of the shooting which clearly shows the attack leading to the shooting. A critic noted that it is almost as if the media wants more riots. NBA basketball player LeBron James tweeted a photo of the police officer who saved a young black girl from getting stabbed, with the threat “YOU’RE NEXT.” LeBron deleted the tweet after receiving backlash on Twitter for inciting violence against the officer. Incidentally, police are expected to use deadly force, if necessary, to protect themselves or others. -GEG
The woman kitty-corner across the street from Donavon Brinson has fostered any number of girls over many years, so when he pulled into his driveway after running errands Tuesday afternoon and saw a commotion among some girls outside there, he wasn’t worried.
“They were calling each other the B-word, so I figured it was just a girl fight,” Brinson said.
But when he took his dog, Max, out back, things hadn’t quieted down. In fact, he said, the yelling had escalated.
Senator Elizabeth Warren Condemns ‘Cruel’ Treatment of Capitol Protesters who Have Been Tortured and Locked in Solitary Confinement
Capitol protesters have been reported to have been tortured, beaten, racially abused, locked in solitary confinement, and held in indefinite detention. Dozens of Trump supporters sit in jail today, held without bond and without being convicted of any crime. The attorney for defendant Ryan Samsel reported that he was “severely beaten” by DC correctional officers and is now blind in one eye, has a skull fracture, and a detached retina. GOP representatives have refused to speak out in their defense. In contrast, Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, who previously condemned the Capitol protesters as domestic terrorists, is now speaking out against holding them in solitary confinement. She said that she is worried that law enforcement officials are using the tactic to “punish” the January 6 defendants or to “break them so that they will cooperate.” She has done more to defend the rights of these conservatives and Trump devotees than the entire GOP establishment, including Donald Trump, who condemned them. -GEG
In contrast, Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren — who previously condemned the Capitol protesters as domestic terrorists — is now speaking out and condemning the “cruel and psychologically damaging” abuse they’re being subjected to by being locked in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day.
Jan. 6 defendants win unlikely Dem champions as they face harsh detainment
“Solitary confinement is a form of punishment that is cruel and psychologically damaging,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren said.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren fled the Capitol on Jan. 6 from a mob she later called domestic terrorists. Now she and another Senate Democratic leader are standing up for their attackers’ rights as criminal defendants.
Most of the 300-plus people charged with participating in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot have been released while they await trial, but dozens of those deemed to be dangerous, flight risks or at high risk of obstructing justice were ordered held without bond. D.C. jail officials later determined that all Capitol detainees would be placed in so-called restrictive housing — a move billed as necessary to keep the defendants safe, as well as guards and other inmates. But that means 23-hour-a-day isolation for the accused, even before their trials begin.
And such treatment doesn’t sit well with Warren or Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), two of the chamber’s fiercest critics of solitary confinement.
“Solitary confinement is a form of punishment that is cruel and psychologically damaging,” Warren said in an interview. “And we’re talking about people who haven’t been convicted of anything yet.”
The Massachusetts Democrat, a member of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s leadership team, said that while some limited uses of solitary confinement are justified, she’s worried that law enforcement officials are deploying it to “punish” the Jan. 6 defendants or to “break them so that they will cooperate.”
Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Calls for Advertisers to Boycott Tucker Carlson After ‘Replacement’ Remarks
After Tucker Carlson said that Democrats are deliberately importing immigrants to weaken American voters’ power by diluting the vote of citizens, the ADL called for companies to pull their advertisements from his show because they say his remarks promote the racist “white replacement” conspiracy theory popular among white supremacists and anti-Semites who believe white people are under attack by other ethnic groups. Carlson also said that Israel uses the same argument against Palestinian “bi-nationalism” which, theoretically, could cause Jews to become a minority. ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, in a speech to the World Federation of Advertisers, urged companies to withdraw support, not just from TV shows that it finds objectionable, but also from the networks. He previously stated that “CEOs have become the fourth branch of government.” -GEG
The Anti-Defamation League urged companies Tuesday to pull their advertisements from Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show, the latest fallout after the controversial host and frequent boycott target said Democrats are deliberately importing immigrants to weaken American voters’ power, comments the ADL saw as an embrace of the racist “white replacement” theory.
In an appearance on Fox News Primetime two weeks ago, Carlson argued Democrats are working to replace current U.S. voters with a “brand new electorate” made up largely of “obedient” immigrants from poorer countries.
The ADL called on Fox to fire Carlson for what it said was a nod to “white replacement,” a conspiracy theory popular among white supremacists and anti-Semites who falsely believe white people are being driven out of existence by other ethnic groups.
ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt went a step further in a Tuesday morning speech to the World Federation of Advertisers, urging companies to use their “advertising muscle” to hold outlets like Fox News accountable for comments like Carlson’s.
Carlson claimed he wasn’t talking about white replacement, but Greenblatt said his message “was not lost on those white supremacists and bigots who are now applauding him.”
Fox News did not respond to a request for comment.

[L]et me share with you another vivid example of how hate speech and white supremacy is moving from the margins into the mainstream.
Just two weeks ago on his Fox News program, Tucker Carlson openly endorsed the white supremacist “Great Replacement Theory.” If you haven’t heard of it, this is a virulently racist and antisemitic conspiracy theory that holds a secret group of Jewish people are plotting to flood the United States with non-whites and immigrants in order to commit “white genocide.”
This is not a new idea. In fact, it is a longstanding, toxic staple of white supremacist ideology. And yet, in front of the largest primetime audience in America, Mr. Carlson asserted this was happening because the Democratic Party intentionally was engineering a huge influx of immigration to bolster its voter base.
Now, I don’t need to tell you how ugly this rhetoric is — especially when it is repeated by someone with millions of viewers across the country. But it’s also dangerous, literally a prompt to violence.
Replacement Theory led to the chants of “Jews will not replace us” in Charlottesville in 2017, the night before they mowed down and murdered Heather Heyer. Extremists invoked Replacement Theory when they massacred 11 Jews in a synagogue in Pittsburgh in 2018; 51 Muslim worshippers at 2 mosques in Christchurch in 2019, and 22 Latinos in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in El Paso that same year. So, make no mistake: This is a deeply dangerous message.
Now, immediately after this segment aired, we reached out to the network with a simple appeal: It’s time for Carlson to go. The response we received back from Fox Chairman Lachlan Murdoch could be summarized as follows: We respect you and the ADL, but Tucker didn’t really mean it. He was talking about voting rights, not embracing a white supremacist trope.
But I can assure you that Carlson’s message was not lost on those white supremacists and bigots who are now applauding him for embracing their talking points.
Why do I share this story?
Again, it is an example of how hatred is being mainstreamed in America in 2021. And it is another example where you, advertisers, have a potential role to play.
Through your advertising muscle, you have a distinct and powerful voice in what information networks like Fox and Facebook will and will not allow on their platforms.
The Postal Service Is Covertly Monitoring Americans’ Social-Media Posts
Yahoo News obtained a document that reveals that a law-enforcement arm of the US Postal Service has been covertly tracking Americans’ social media posts with a focus on conservatives. The surveillance effort, known as ICOP, or Internet Covert Operations Program, monitors social-media sites to find what the document describes as “inflammatory” postings and then shares that information with government agencies. -GEG
Yahoo News, which is a hard left partisan outfit, committed an act of journalism this week: it discovered that the United States Post Office has been running a “covert operations program” to monitor Americans’ social media posts for inflammatory information. That sounds like a bipartisan sin of officiousness that, despite the public nature of many posts, can leak into being a Fifth Amendment violation. However, when you dig more deeply into the article, you discover that the Post Office is concerned only with “right-wing” inflammatory information.
The law enforcement arm of the U.S. Postal Service has been quietly running a program that tracks and collects Americans’ social media posts, including those about planned protests, according to a document obtained by Yahoo News.
The details of the surveillance effort, known as iCOP, or Internet Covert Operations Program, have not previously been made public. The work involves having analysts trawl through social media sites to look for what the document describes as “inflammatory” postings and then sharing that information across government agencies.
“Analysts with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP) monitored significant activity regarding planned protests occurring internationally and domestically on March 20, 2021,” says the March 16 government bulletin, marked as “law enforcement sensitive” and distributed through the Department of Homeland Security’s fusion centers. “Locations and times have been identified for these protests, which are being distributed online across multiple social media platforms, to include right-wing leaning Parler and Telegram accounts.”
A number of groups were expected to gather in cities around the globe on March 20 as part of a World Wide Rally for Freedom and Democracy, to protest everything from lockdown measures to 5G.
According to Yahoo, even left-leaning civil liberties experts have found the Post Office’s conduct disturbing. For example:
When contacted by Yahoo News, civil liberties experts expressed alarm at the post office’s surveillance program. “It’s a mystery,” said University of Chicago law professor Geoffrey Stone, whom President Barack Obama appointed to review the National Security Agency’s bulk data collection in the wake of the Edward Snowden leaks. “I don’t understand why the government would go to the Postal Service for examining the internet for security issues.”
