Austria has suspended its roll-out of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine after a 49-year-old nurse died âas a result of severe coagulation disorders,â and a 35-year-old nurse developed a pulmonary embolism following the COVID injections. Both nurses reportedly worked at the Zwettl clinic in Lower Austria province. A spokesman for AstraZeneca said there have been no confirmed serious adverse events associated with their vaccine, but the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency last week reported 244 deaths and 157,637 injuries in the UK following injections of the vaccine. -GEG

A pulmonary embolism is an acute lung disease caused by a dislodged blood clot.
Both nurses reportedly worked at the Zwettl clinic in Lower Austria province.
The Austrian Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) said blood clotting was not among the known side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
An AstraZeneca spokesman said: âThere have been no confirmed serious adverse events associated with the vaccine.â
