Governors of Texas and Mississippi Remove Business Restrictions and End State Mask Mandates

Republican Governor Greg Abbott of Texas issued a new executive order that rescinded most of the previous executive orders regarding Covid-19 policies, and all businesses may reopen to capacity. He also ended the statewide mask mandate.

First Florida, then Texas, and now Mississippi has also removed business restrictions and dropped state mask mandates.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) on Tuesday announced all businesses in the state can reopen 100% and ended the statewide mask mandate.

It’s about time.

“So today, I’m issuing a new executive order that rescinds most of the earlier executive orders,” Abbott said. “Effective next Wednesday, all businesses of any type are allowed to open 100%….also, I am ending the statewide mask mandate,” Abbott said from Lubbock.

“Under no circumstance can someone be punished for not wearing a mask,” he said.

Operative word he uses : allowed. He never had authority in the first place but compliance of the ignorant rules a society these days.
