The White House has set a goal of reopening 50% of schools across the US for a minimum of one day per week. Students are falling behind scholastically, and Atlanta is requiring mandatory summer school. Jesse Watters’ report reveals that over $100-billion has been spent to reopen schools, but the biggest school districts are still closed due to pressure from teachers’ unions. (Teachers are paid even when they don’t teach.) In Chicago, there were about 2,000 cases of fraud last year, including billing fraud, payroll fraud, and even pre-school fraud. Vacation homes were traded for fat contracts. The Chicago Public School CEO is under house arrest pending resolution of charges of steering contracts and pocketing $2-million in kickbacks. An official with the union is accused of funneling $1-million to politicians who lobbied to keep schools closed. Companies run by Democrat donors were awarded lucrative contracts. Chicago announced that schools were ready to open in November, but they are stilled closed. -GEG
