Michigan: Two Republican Officials Who Initially Refused to Certify Ballots Caved In After Threats

William Hartmann and Monica Palmer, the two Republican members of the four-member Wayne County canvassing board, initially refused to certify the votes due to irregularities in polling books, mainly in the city of Detroit. After they were doxxed, harassed, called racists, and threatened during a video conference, they caved in and certified the vote. On Wednesday, they signed an affidavit citing “intense bullying and coercion” for their decision and rescinded their votes. However, the office of Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says there is no legal mechanism for them to rescind their vote. -GEG

The four member board comprised of two Democrats and two Republicans earlier deadlocked at 2-2.

However after listening to residents’ concerns during the virtual public meeting and getting threats online, the Republicans voted to certify the vote but asked Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to audit certain precincts with problems.

Ned Staebler, the far left Democrat election observer threatened Hartmann and Palmer during an online conference call.
