Washington State Health Secretary John Wiesman has asked the federal government to push health experts and health-care providers to educate the public about the importance of getting vaccinations in reaction to a measles epidemic that has affected 75 people, most under the age of ten, throughout the Pacific Northwest. Parents are deciding not to vaccinate their children due to links with autism. Weisman said that a very well-organized and connected group of a small number of folks who are having a huge impact, although only 1.3% of children under two years old are unvaccinated. He said that people have stalked and even threatened to kill Washington state legislators who’ve proposed measures restricting parents from opting out of immunizations for their children. Contrary to mainstream propaganda, many peer-reviewed studies link vaccines to autism – see the link to 157 research papers supporting the vaccine/ autism link below.

Washington state’s health secretary called for a national education campaign Monday in reaction to a measles epidemic that has spread throughout the Pacific Northeast.

Health Secretary John Wiesman asked the federal government to initiate an education campaign to combat what he and medical experts allege is the spread of harmful false information, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Wiesman attributes much of the outbreak to false information disseminated by “a very well-organized and connected group of a small number of folks who are having a huge impact,” according to the Post. The health secretary has asked the government to push health experts and health-care providers to educate the public about the importance of getting vaccinations.

I am a physician. In the past I had many kids who had received measles vaccine and still had measles. The cases were less severe than they otherwise would have been but never-the-less measles. My conclusion was that it is a somewhat innefective vaccine. It does not always prevent what it is supposed to prevent.
