President Trump Addressed the Nation on Border Security and Government Shutdown

President Trump addressed Americans from the Oval Office to describe the growing humanitarian and security crisis on the southern border. There is no space to hold the thousands of illegal immigrants crossing the border and no way to legally return them to their countries. The open border is a pipeline for illegal drugs. Over the past two years, ICE arrested over 266,000 illegal aliens with criminal records, including 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 murders.

Trump says he has requested technology to detect drug and weapons transfers across the border, more border agents, immigration judges, more bed space for immigrants, and $5.7-billion for a barrier. -GEG
