Illegal Alien from El Salvador Who Was Deported Six Times, Is Accused of Killing Three Men after Fleeing to the Sanctuary State of California

Los Angeles: Ramon Escobar, a 47-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, is accused of attacking seven people, leaving three of them dead. Another victim, who Ramon beat with a baseball bat, is in a coma.  Escobar is accused of attacking the homeless victims while they were sleeping.  Escobar fled to the sanctuary state of California, which protects illegal aliens from arrest and deportation, after being questioned last month in Houston, Texas, about the disappearance of several of his relatives. -GEG

A six-time deported illegal alien accused of beating and killing three men across seven separate attacks has been arrested and charged with murder.

Ramon Escobar, a 47-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested this week in Santa Monica, California after he allegedly attacked seven people, in total, leaving three of them to ultimately die because of the alleged attacks, CBS Los Angeles reports.

One of the remaining victims of the illegal alien’s alleged attacks — where he allegedly used a baseball bat to beat his victims relentlessly — is still in a coma.

The illegal alien allegedly attacked three men in downtown Los Angeles on September 16. Escobar is also accused of attacking a homeless man on a Santa Monica beach on September 8, attacking another man on a Santa Monica beach on Sept 10, and of the deadly beating of 39-year-old Steven Cruze Jr. on the Santa Monica Pier. Cruze Jr. died from the injuries of the attack.

Cruze leaves behind two children. A GoFundMe has been set up by Cruze’s children to pay for his funeral expenses.

Republicans Passed $850-Billion Spending Bill to Avoid Funding the Border Wall

su_note note_color=”#efe1a7″ text_color=”#00000″ radius=”5”]The Republicans in the House passed a $850-billion spending bill before the midterm elections that would fund the government until December 7th. This prevents President Trump from shutting down the government to pressure Congress to at least partially fund the border wall. Government funding runs out on Sunday. UPDATE:  Trump signed the Republican $855 billion spending bill to stop a government shut down. [/su_note]

The House passed a $850 billion spending bill that would fund the government until December 7, preventing President Donald Trump from potentially shutting down the government to force Congress to partially fund his promised border wall.

The House passed the spending bill, H.R. 6157, with a vote tally of 361 to 61. The spending bill funds several departments of the U.S. government and would fund the government through December 7.

Funding for the American government runs out on Sunday night and would avoid a government shutdown as long as the president signs the spending bill into law. The Senate passed its spending bill last week, sending the bill to the president’s desk to sign before government funding runs out on Sunday.

President Trump previously slammed the spending package because it did not include increased funding promised for the border wall and increased funding for border security. Republican leadership has lobbied President Trump to avoid a government shutdown because of the shutdown’s potential negative impact on the Republicans’ majority in the House.

Last week, President Trump called the bill “ridiculous” and called on Republicans to “GET TOUGH.”

Lame-duck Speaker Paul Ryan claimed Wednesday that Trump would sign the spending bill.

Trump signs spending bill to avoid government shutdown, despite frustrations over border wall funding

  • President Donald Trump signs a spending bill that will avert a government shutdown despite previously calling the measure “ridiculous” because it did not include funding for a wall along the southern border.
  • There had been some doubts about whether the president would sign the bill, raising the specter that funding for the government would lapse as early as Monday.
  • But Trump had tamped down on concerns from top Republicans in recent weeks, pledging that he would “keep the government open.”

President Donald Trump on Friday signed a spending bill that will avert a government shutdown despite previously calling the measure “ridiculous” because it did not include funding for a wall along the southern border.

There had been some doubts about whether the president would sign the bill, raising the specter that funding for the government would lapse as early as Monday. But Trump tamped down on concerns from top Republicans in recent weeks, pledging that he would “keep the government open.”

In a statement announcing that he signed the bill, the president said he “secured additional funding for border security” and claimed $1.6 billion would go toward building the border barrier. Trump also again made the unsubstantiated claim that Democrats “want drugs and crime to pour into our country.”

Facebook Data Breach Allows Hackers to Take Over Users’ Accounts and Could Affect 50-Million Users

Last week, Facebook detected a data breach that allows hackers to take over a user’s account. This was possible because a vulnerability in Facebook’s code impacted the “View As” feature that lets people see what their own profile looks like to someone else. This allowed hackers to steal access tokens that can be used to take over users’ accounts. Access tokens are what keep users logged in to Facebook so they don’t need to re-enter their password every time. The culprit has not yet been identified. Facebook said that it has fixed the vulnerability and reset the access tokens of almost 50-million accounts. -GEG

Another day, another major security breach, and even more pain for Facebook which in recent months has failed to keep up with the FANG euphoria.

Facebook said that on September 25 it discovered a security breach which affected almost 50 million accounts. The company said it’s investigating the breach, which allowed hackers to take over a person’s account.

In the statement, Facebook said that “attackers exploited a vulnerability in Facebook’s code that impacted “View As”, a feature that lets people see what their own profile looks like to someone else. This allowed them to steal Facebook access tokens which they could then use to take over people’s accounts. Access tokens are the equivalent of digital keys that keep people logged in to Facebook so they don’t need to re-enter their password every time they use the app.”

This attack exploited the complex interaction of multiple issues in our code. It stemmed from a change we made to our video uploading feature in July 2017, which impacted “View As.” The attackers not only needed to find this vulnerability and use it to get an access token, they then had to pivot from that account to others to steal more tokens.

The social network added that it has “yet to determine whether these accounts were misused or any information accessed.” It also doesn’t know “who’s behind these attacks or where they’re based.”

Maxine Waters Denied that Her Staff Doxxed Senators Lindsey Graham, Orin Hatch and Mike Lee

Personal information, such as home address and phone numbers, of Republican Senators Lindsey Graham, Mike Lee,  and Orrin Hatch was posted to Wikipedia Thursday during the hearing of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.  Several researchers say the IP address traces back to the office of Representative Maxine Waters. Waters responded by saying “the United States Capitol Police and our internal IT specialist have determined that the IP address in question does not belong to my office or anyone on my staff.”  Senator Rand Paul called for an investigation to determine and punish who published the personal data of the senators, thereby endangering them and their families. Graham says that he received “a bunch of people beating on my door” following the incident. -GEG

Update: On Saturday afternoon, Maxine Waters said she is “utterly disgusted by the spread of the completely false, absurd, and dangerous lies and conspiracy theories that are being pedaled by ultra-right wing pundits, outlets, and websites who are promoting a fraudulent claim that a member of my staff was responsible for the release of the personal information of Members of the United States Senate on Wikipedia.”

Waters also claimed that “the United States Capitol Police and our internal IT specialist have determined that the IP address in question does not belong to my office or anyone on my staff. The member of my staff – whose identity, personal information, and safety have been compromised as a result of these fraudulent and false allegations – was in no way responsible for the leak of this information. My office has alerted the appropriate authorities and law enforcement entities of these fraudulent claims.”

So who did it then? Waters concludes by saying that she will “ensure that the perpetrators will be revealed, and that they will be held legally liable for all of their actions that are destructive and dangerous to any and all members of my staff.”

The personal information of Republican Senators Lindsey Graham, Mike Lee and Orrin Hatch was posted to Wikipedia Thursday during the hearing of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

The information, which included home addresses and phone numbers, was posted to the senators’ respective Wikipedia pages where users are allowed to make edits – all of which are logged by Wikipedia and include the editor’s IP address.

As a result of the information being made public, Sen. Hatch’s wife “has been receiving calls nonstop ON HER BIRTHDAY and their home address was made public,” according to Caleb Hull, director of content at the Republican technology firm Targeted Victory.

The IP address used to “doxx” the Senators was quickly traced back to the House of Representatives…

New Jersey Public Worker Pension Fund Considers Dropping Nike Stocks over Colin Kaepernick Ad Campaign

New Jersey’s $77-billion public worker pension fund is considering dumping its Nike investments after Marty Barrett, a representative of retired police officers and firefighters, asked the council to consider divesting from its Nike holdings because of the controversial advertisement featuring Colin Kaepernick. Barrett said that Kaepernick’s protest disrespects members of the military and first responders who were killed on 9/11. The State Investment Council voted unanimously to review its holdings, which a spokeswoman for the Treasury Department said include 311,500 equity shares valued at $26 million and 20 million principal valued at $18 million.

The council overseeing New Jersey’s $77 billion public worker pension fund will study its investments with Nike at the urging of a member representing police and firefighters who is unhappy with the company’s new ad campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick.

Marty Barrett, a representative of retired police officers and firefighters, asked the council to consider divesting from its Nike holdings because of the ad.

Nike’s use of the sports figure, whose protests of police brutality during the National Anthem drew controversy, has triggered boycotts of the brand.

Barrett said Thursday that Kaepernick’s protest disrespects members of the military and first responders who were killed on 9/11.

Nike “made one of the worst business decisions of all time” in making Kaepernick the face of its ad campaign, Barrett said.

The State Investment Council voted unanimously to review its holdings, which a spokeswoman for the Treasury Department said include 311,500 equity shares valued at $26 million and 20 million principal valued at $18 million.

Senator Grassley Refers Potential False Accuser, Who Claimed Kavanaugh Raped His Friend, for a Criminal Investigation

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions requesting a criminal investigation of Jeff Catalan, who claimed that a female friend was sexually assaulted on a sailboat in Rhode Island in 1985 by “two heavily inebriated men she referred to at the time as Brett and Mark.” Catalan recanted his story. Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse was tipped about the man’s claim and he referred the accuser to a reporter. [Will an investigation for false statements discourage future spurious accusations?] -GEG

The Senate Judiciary Committee has referred an individual to the FBI/DOJ for criminal investigation after for potential “materially false statements” about US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

On Monday, Jeff Catalan of Newport, RI called Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse’s office with “allegations concerning a rape on a boat in August of 1985,” according to a transcript of the phone call.

Catalan claimed that in 1985, “a close acquaintance of the constituent was sexually assaulted by two heavily inebriated men she referred to at the time as Brett and Mark,” reported CNN, citing the transcript and noting that the incident reportedly took place on a boat in Newport harbor. After Catalan’s friend learned about the assault, “he and another individual went to the harbor, located the boat the victim had described and physically confronted the two men, leaving them with significant injuries,” the report notes.

Whitehouse, a member of the Judiciary Committee, asked Kavanaugh about the incident Tuesday, which Kavanaugh denied.

“No,” Kavanaugh said in a phone call with the Committee. “I was not in Newport, haven’t been on a boat in Newport. Not with Mark Judge on a boat, nor all those three things combined. This is just completely made up, or at least not me. I don’t know what they’re referring to.”

After a transcript of the call was released, Catalan recanted over Twitter, saying “Do everyone who is going crazy about what I had said I have recanted because I have made a mistake and apologize for such mistake.”

Over an hour after Catalan recanted, CNN ran a story that included his accusation but not his recanting. Three hours later, they updated their story to include his backpedal.

A statement from the Judiciary Committee reads:

“One tip was referred to the committee by staff for Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.). While Whitehouse referred the accuser to a reporter, the committee took the claim seriously and questioned Judge Kavanaugh about the allegations under penalty of felony. Judge Kavanaugh denied any misconduct. After the transcripts of that interview became public, the individual recanted the claims on a social media post,” reads a statement by the Judiciary Committee.

“…when individuals provide fabricated allegations to the Committee, diverting Committee resources during time-sensitive investigations, it materially impedes our work. Such acts are not only unfair; they are potentially illegal. It is illegal to make materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements to Congressional investigators. It is illegal to obstruct Committee investigations,” Grassley says in the letter.

Dianne Feinstein Denied Leaking Blasey-Ford’s Letter, Trump Says the FBI May Investigate Leak

President Trump says the FBI investigation of Judge Kavanaugh may reveal who leaked the letter by Christine Blasey Ford to the press. Trump does an amazingly accurate imitation of Feinstein’s denial that neither she or her staff leaked the document.

President Trump Agrees to One-Week FBI Investigation of Kavanaugh

President Trump has agreed to a one-week investigation by the FBI into claims against Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, after Senator Jeff Flake said his support was dependent on the outcome of an FBI investigation. Flake changed his position of support for a Senate vote after he was confronted by two female activists with links to organizations funded by George Soros, who claimed they were sexually abused. -GEG

Republican Senator Jeff Flake, who will not run for re-election, voted in favor of advancing Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination from the committee to the full Senate, but later announced he wanted to delay a confirmation vote one week in order to let the FBI investigate. Shortly thereafter, he was confronted by two women who seemed to have trapped him an elevator as they pleaded with him to withdraw his support, claiming that they were victims of sexual assault.
.
Both women belong to activist groups that are funded by George Soros, who is a friend and investment partner of the President.  Ana Maria Archila, the co-executive director of the nonprofit Center for Popular Democracy Action, claims that she was sexually assaulted when she was 5 years old by a teenager when she and her family lived in Colombia. She said she didn’t tell anyone before this week.
.
The other activist was Maria Gallagher, a member of Make the Road New York, a pro-immigration activist group. She told Flake, “I was sexually assaulted and nobody believed me. I didn’t tell anyone, and you’re telling all women that they don’t matter, that they should just stay quiet because if they tell you what happened to them you are going to ignore them.  That’s what happened to me, and that’s what you are telling all women in America, that they don’t matter.”
.
After Flake announced he wanted to delay a confirmation, President Trump agreed to order the FBI to open a supplemental background investigation of Kavanaugh that would be completed in a week.
.
Flake’s request was supported by other undecided Republicans Senators, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, as well as two undecided Democrats Senators, Heidi Heitkamp and Joe Manchin.
.
Senator Flake has worked against President Trump, and CBS reports that Flake spoke with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein just before he made his announcement that has led critics to suspect the Deep State now is involved with the Supreme Court nomination.
