Eric Clanton, a philosophy and ethics professor at Diablo Valley College, was granted a plea deal and will receive probation instead of punishment following his violent attacks on Trump supporters. Police report that he bashed seven people with a bike lock at Berkeley in April 2017. Clanton was charged with four counts of felony assault and faced 11 years in prison.
