Hundreds of African Migrants Storm Spain’s Border, Guards Face Knives and ‘Unusual Violence’

Ceuta and Melilla, are Spanish territories in North Africa, the EU’s only land borders with Africa, allowing passage from Morocco. An estimated 400 migrants charged the border in the early hours of May 6th, with only six making it across to claim asylum. A city official reported that guards were having to contend with young, physically fit migrants using ā€œhand-made knivesā€ and willing to deploy ā€œunusual violenceā€ to achieve their aim.

San Francisco has the most expensive housing in America, which has led to a rise in the homeless population who are living in the streets, creating a problem with human waste on the streets. The city is offering a new app to report feces and needles left behind by drug addicts on the floors inside the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station instead of creating a solution to the homeless problem.

Rand Paul Is Blocked from Ending Indefinite Detention of Americans

The inclusion of the amendment in the GOP package to end indefinite detention to be attached to the new military spending bill requires consent from all senators but is short by one vote, believed to belong to Senator Lindsey Graham.

Death on the Gaza Border: More Palestinian Protests, Israel Using Live Rounds

Four Palestinians protesters were killed and about 100 wounded on Friday, in the 11th consecutive week of clashes along the border between the Gaza Strip and southern Israel. One of the victims who was killed was a 15-year old boy. Another protester was shot in the face with a tear canister that, literally, had to be surgically remove. There have been 126 Palestinians killed, over 3,600 wounded by live ammunition.
