German Police Hid when Confronted by Angry Mob of Migrants

German police were overwhelmed when confronted by an angry mob of migrants who demanded the release of a man from Togo who had been apprehended in a refugee reception center and detained for deportation. The police released the detainee as the aggressive mob grew from 50 to 150 participants. When authorities yield to pressure once, they become susceptible in the future.

German police have been forced to release a failed asylum seeker they were due to deport after being confronted by an angry mob of migrants. The officers caved in to the crowd’s demands and fled to avoid a “dangerous escalation.”

The incident took place in the town of Ellwangen in southern Germany overnight into Monday when a group of police officers arrived at a local refugee reception center. They were due to find and deport a Togolese man, 23, the Aalen police department said in a statement on Wednesday.

The officers had already detained the man and put him into a police car, when a crowd of about 50 people, who were living in the reception center, demanded the Togolese national be released “in an aggressive and threatening manner.”

Following what the statement described as an “extremely aggressive” confrontation that could allegedly “spiral into violence at any moment,” police had to release the man, who was already in police custody, in order to “avoid drastic escalation of the situation that could occur otherwise.” The police also said that, at some point, the mob grew from 50 to some 150 people.

The refugees and migrants allegedly encircled the two police cars that were present at the scene and started harassing the officers, the German dpa news agency reported. “They were very aggressive and threatened us in such an increasingly explicit manner that we had to leave the man [in the car] … and retreat to the reception center ward,” a police officer, who took part in the operation, told the news agency.

Police only confirmed in its statement that a police car was damaged as a result of the confrontation. The dpa further reported that the migrants then sent a center security guard as a messenger to the police officers, who had barricaded themselves in the ward. “Their message was an ultimatum: either the police officers remove the handcuffs from the Togolese within two minutes or they [the migrants] storm the gates [of the ward],” the DPA reported.

The officers then handed over the key to the handcuffs to the security guard, who supposedly gave it to the migrants. The Togolese man, who was due to be deported, disappeared following the incident, the German media report.

The deputy head of the Aalen police department, Bernhard Weber, praised the actions of the officers “under such exceptional” circumstances. “I can only show great respect for my colleagues,” who were able to “keep a cool head” in such a situation, he said in a statement, apparently implying that, even though a massive breach of public order would justify the use of force by the police, it was not really necessary.

At the same time, he seemed to seek to downplay the incident. “We believe that those who confronted [the police], were also in an extremely tense situation,” Weber said, adding that the migrants apparently “got carried away” by some sort of a corporate feeling and took the actions “they would have probably never taken following a thorough consideration.”

The police chief admitted, though, that “it is clear that a state governed by the rule of law should not let itself be barred from enforcing this rule of law by an aggressive mob.” The police emphasized that it has launched a probe into the incident over the unlawful release of a detainee and a breach of public order.

The incident, however, provoked concerns among local politicians. “Attacks on police officers are unacceptable,” Uli Sckerl, a member of the regional parliament from the Green Party, told journalists. He also said that such behavior should be followed by legal consequences. “Frustration does not justify crimes,” he added.

The faction leader of the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany party in the regional parliament, Bernd Goedel, condemned the incident by calling it the “state’s failure.” “If the authorities show that they can yield to pressure even once, then one will see the same situations in the future,” he warned. The leader of the regional parliament’s faction of the Free Democrats, Hans-Ulrich Ruelke, also described the incident as an “alarming situation.”

Greece: Radical Marxist Syriza Party Pushing to Allow 800,000 Immigrants to Vote

The same agenda is infecting America, Europe, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand.  Coincidence?

The Gatestone Institute:

As Greece struggles with accelerating economic decline and an increasing lack of public faith in the political leadership, the ruling Syriza coalition appears to be adopting a strategy of garnering votes from immigrants by expediting their naturalization process.

According to a recent report in the Greek daily Parapolitika, Interior Minister Panos Skourletis is laying the groundwork to enable hundreds of thousands of immigrants to become citizens and vote in the next elections. Although the mandate of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras ends in September 2019, some analysts have been predicting a call for elections by the end of 2018.

Until now, candidates for Greek citizenship had to be vetted by a committee. Under the new system, applicants will be granted citizenship automatically if they correctly answer 20 out of 30 questions online. In addition, the government is planning to allow immigrants over the age of 65 to obtain Greek IDs, without testing their knowledge of the Greek language. In other words, it will be easier to obtain Greek citizenship than a Greek fishing license. As a result, a total of 800,000 immigrants — almost one-tenth of the native Greek population — will soon become citizens. Transposed to the United States, that would be the equivalent of 32,000,000 new voters.

US Immigration and Border Laws Are Superseded by UN Treaty Law

In 1968 the US signed onto the UN refugee convention that is baked into our legal system, and must to be destroyed to restore our county. The laws that the US has adopted include prohibiting a Muslim travel ban, giving refugees free legal aid, free education and welfare, allowing refugees to work, and regulations that make deportation very difficult. The Supreme Court could easily interpret the laws to fully open our borders to limitless migrants.  It is important to note that the Supremacy Clause places Constitutional law above all other laws and regulations, including international treaty law, but in practice, our courts and government have failed us by misinterpreting it. Removing the bad laws is more important than building a wall as cutting benefits would remove the bait to settle in the US.

The invading caravan from Central America finally reached the United States. Some members of the caravan crossed the border illegally and were arrested. Others may have made it through undetected.

Still others openly applied for asylum and had their applications processed at the San Ysidro port of entry at the border. They were selected by the radical anti-American group, Pueblo Sin Fronteras, as the best representatives of their invasion of the United States. Others just headed straight for the hills.

The Goat Canyon area has one of the biggest gaps and is a popular crossing spot for illegal migrants. There’s an 8-foot tall fence in poor condition and a woefully incomplete secondary fence.  Fencing in the area dates back to Operation Gatekeeper in the 90s which reduced migrant traffic, but didn’t stop it. After leveling hills and building miles of fencing, the area is still a dangerous illegal alien magnet.

Chemical and sewage dumping from Mexico made parts of the area too hazardous to patrol.  It’s so bad that Border Patrol personnel have become ill and an environmental group called off a cleanup because of the high fecal content. One agent experienced chemical burns in his lungs while checking a grate.

Goat Canyon is one of the most compelling arguments for Trump’s wall. And for more than a wall.

Migrant alien males can cross illegally. Families usually turn themselves in to the Border Patrol and are quickly released because there are no local facilities to detain them, turning border patrol personnel into coyotes. But this time the Justice Department decided to send a message to the illegal caravan.

11 members of the caravan who crossed illegally were charged. Many were arrested crossing in groups with other illegal aliens from around the world.  6 out of 7 arrested by one agent were from El Salvador, the home of the violent MS-13 gang which has been taking over parts of America. Another arrest took place with three illegal migrants from India. Goat Canyon had previously hosted large groups of gypsies.

The DOJ had made it clear to caravan members that they would be arrested. But because of the law, they can only be charged with a misdemeanor. Only Olvin Herrera-Romero, who was identified as having been previously deported to Honduras in 2008 through his fingerprints, can be charged with a felony.

Under Obama, the U.S. Sentencing Commission made changes that generally cut sentences for illegal reentry. The average sentence for illegal reentry is 18 months. Even hardened criminals usually come away with lighter sentences than the guidelines might indicate. Deportation is a revolving door and the Sentencing Commission’s report found that 38% of illegal reentry offenders had a previous illegal entry conviction or deportation. 62% had been convicted of at least one criminal offense after illegal reentry.

Building a physical wall is important. But so is building a legal wall.

Illegal entry should not be a misdemeanor. A petty misdemeanor has no meaningful deterrent effect. Illegal migrants, their lawyers and overwhelmed courts view the matter as a routine formality. The sentences are almost the same as those from almost a century ago when the problem was different.

But the biggest hole in our immigration security is still asylum law. And a wall alone can’t fix it.

Immigration law allows any alien to show up at the border or at an airport and apply for asylum. Ramzi Yousef, the Islamic terrorist behind the World Trade Center bombing, flew into JFK Airport, applied for asylum and was released into New York City. And you can’t build a wall around JFK Airport.

And even with a wall, illegal migrants will still be able to show up at the border and apply for asylum.

The roots of the problem go deep. United States asylum law derives from the United Nations. The 1951 UN refugee convention and the 1967 protocol, to which we became a signatory in 1968, have been baked into our legal codes. Article 3 precludes a Muslim travel ban, Article 16 mandates free legal aid for refugees, Article 17 requires allowing a refugee to work, Article 22 mandates free education, Article 23, welfare, Article 26, travel anywhere within the United States, Article 28, travel outside the country, Articles 32 and 33 make deportation very difficult, and Article 31 prohibits imposing, “penalties, on account of their illegal entry or presence, on refugees”. United States courts have debated how to interpret these articles, but a leftist Supreme Court could easily use Article 33 to open up our borders.

And we would be obligated to process and possibly take in every refugee anywhere in the world.

When Germany’s Angela Merkel said, “The right to political asylum has no limits on the number of asylum seekers,” she was indirectly referencing the legal obligations of the UN Convention.

All it would take to reduce America to Germany would be for the courts to force our government and laws into full compliance, instead of only partial compliance, with a UN convention we signed on to.

Canada: Leftist PM Justin Trudeau Cracks Down on Immigration After Migrants Flood Borders

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded to Trump’s first travel ban in January 2017 by tweeting, “To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada.” Since that time, in the intervening 15 months,  26,000 people have migrated to Canada, yet he blames the US.  Now he is trying to renegotiate the ‘Safe Third Country Agreement’ that requires asylum seekers to to apply for asylum in the first country that they entered.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appears to be executing a full 180 degree turn on immigration policy following the recent dramatic increase in illegal immigration at Canada’s southern border.

Canada is reportedly attempting to renegotiate the “Safe Third Country Agreement,” which would require all asylum seekers who approach formal border-crossings (going either direction) at the U.S.-Canada border to apply for asylum in the country they entered first.

Trudeau responded to questions during a parliamentary session on Tuesday, saying that negotiations with the United States had thus far been “unfruitful.”

In the past 15 months alone, Canada has seen an influx of more than 26,000 illegal immigrants — some of whom have told officials that President Trump’s stance on illegal immigration was what drove them across the border to the north.
