Residents of Illinois Village Have 60 Days to Surrender Guns Or Face Fines Up to $1000 Per Day

Residents of Deerfield, Illinois have 60 days to turn in their “assault weapons” and large capacity magazines, or face fines of up to $1000 dollars a day.  Authorities justified the ban by pointing to the recent spate of mass shootings and the anti-gun words of the local high school students.  Second Amendment advocates have vowed to fight the ban in court with the help of the NRA.

Residents of Deerfield, Illinois have 60 days to turn in their “assault weapons” or face fines of up to $1000 dollars a day.

Earlier this week, the The Village Board of Trustees passed an ordinance which banned certain types of “assault weapons” and large capacity magazines, including the the Ruger 10/22, which can accept magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

Semi-automatic pistols that can hold more than 10 rounds have also been banned. Law enforcement and retired law enforcement members of the community are exempted from the ban.

Residents will have to either sell the weapons, transfer ownership to someone living outside of the town, turn them into police or pay the exorbitant fines, which range from $250 to $1000 per day per gun. The deadline is June 13.

Authorities justified the ban by pointing to the recent spate of mass shootings, including last year’s Sutherland Springs shooting, which was stopped by a man who used one of the very guns Deerfield has now banned.

Writer Jack Burns predicts that some residents will refuse to follow the order or pay the fines, resulting in “major turmoil and arrests in the event of non-compliance.”

Indeed, some residents have already vowed to disobey the ban.

“There’s an ancient and honored American tradition called disobeying an unjust law…I have urged (people) to listen to their conscience and if so moved do not obey this law,” remarked Joel Siegel, a resident of Lincolnwood.

Deerfield Mayor Harriet Rosenthal suggested that she was moved to bring about the ban by the words of students from the local high school.

Mexico Threatens to Stop Helping US Against Drug Cartels and Migrants If Trump Deploys Border Troops

The Mexican Senate passed a resolution to end cooperation with the US against drug cartels and immigration problems after President Trump ordered the National Guard troops to the border. Mexico rejected the “militarization” of the border and refuses cooperation until Trump “acts with civility and respect.”

The Mexican Senate passed a resolution seeking an end to bilateral cooperation with the U.S. against drug cartels and immigration problems after President Trump ordered National Guard troops to the border.

The resolution was passed in a unanimous fashion and sent to the White House, Members of the U.S. Congress, and Mexico’s Foreign Relations Officer, El Universal reported.

“Despite everything that is at stake in the relationship between our two countries, the way in which President Donald Trump has behaved is, for the Mexican people, unacceptable and intolerable,” El Universal quoted from the document.

The resolution demands that President Trump respect the people of Mexico, and notes the Senate “condemns the unfounded and offensive expressions about Mexico and Mexicans and the treatment that is needed for a relationship between neighboring countries, partners, and allies.”

UK Experts Cannot Prove That Novichock Poisoned Spy Came from Russia

Salisbury, England: Sergei Skripal, a Russian intelligence officer who acted as a double agent for the UK, was poisoned last month, along with his daughter, with the nerve agent Novichock.  Authorities claimed that the nerve agent was produced in Russia, prompting the US, UK and other European countries to impose sanctions against Russia and expel Russian diplomats, turning up the heat on the cold war.  The UK refused to allow the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to inspect the specimen, despite Russia’s request.  Scientists at the Porton Down military research facility have been unable to establish exactly where the Novichock nerve agent used to carry out the Skripal attack was manufactured, which bolsters the suspicion that this could be a false flag attack. [Remember the lies about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?]

Accusations and recriminations between Britain and Russia are set to escalate with the news that scientists at the Porton Down military research facility have been unable to establish exactly where the novichok nerve agent used to carry out the Skripal attack was manufactured.

The admission comes the day before Moscow convenes an emergency meeting of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague in which it is expected to demand access to samples from the Salisbury poisoning for analysis by Russian scientists.

Russia’s embassy in London responded that Porton Down’s assessment “proves that all political declarations on the Russian origin of the crime are nothing but assumptions not stemming from objective facts or the course of the investigation”.

The development also comes after Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, suggested that British intelligence services carried out the attempted assassination of the former MI6 agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia and claimed that it had proved “beneficial” in distracting attention from Theresa May’s government having to make major concessions to the European Union on Brexit.

The OPCW is due to present its own conclusions on the nerve agent in the near future. It remains to be seen whether it will be able to provide definite proof that the novichok came from a Russian government facility or echo the Porton Down position.

Gary Aitkenhead, the chief executive of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) at Porton Down, Wiltshire, told Sky News that the substance required “extremely sophisticated methods to create something only in the capabilities of a state actor. We were able to identify it as novichok, to identify that it was military-grade nerve agent.”

Mr Aitkenhead went on to say: “We have not identified the precise source, but we have provided the scientific info to the government who have then used a number of other sources,” some of them intelligence-based.

The head of Porton Down denied claims that his research centre had been connected in any way with a “false flag” operation or that the novichok used may have come from it. “There is no way that anything like that would ever have come from us or leave the walls of our facilities,” he said. “We deal with a number of very toxic substances as part of the work that we do.”

There has been no immediate reaction from the Kremlin on the Porton Down assessment, but there is little doubt that it will be used to support its claims that UK has no real evidence to back up the accusation of Russian state culpability in the attack.

Speaking of the OPCW emergency meeting, Yury Filatov, the Russian ambassador to Ireland, said: “We hope to discuss the whole matter and call on Britain to provide every possible element of element of evidence they might have on their hands. Russia is interested in establishing the whole truth of the matter and we hope certainly that this meeting will help to return to at least the realm of normality within the realm of international law and decency in international matters.”

A British government spokesperson insisted that the Porton Down assessment was “only part of the intelligence picture”. He continued: “As the Prime Minister has set out in a number of statements to the Commons since 12 March, this includes our knowledge that within the past decade, Russia has investigated ways of delivering nerve agents probably for assassination and as part of this programme has produced and stockpiled small quantities of novichoks, Russia’s record of conducting state-sponsored assassinations and our assessment that Russia views former intelligence officers as targets.

“It is our assessment that Russia was responsible for this brazen and reckless act and, as the international community agrees, there is no other plausible explanation.”

Twenty-nine countries and Nato carried out a mass expulsion of almost 150 Russians working under diplomatic credentials after Britain provided information that pointed to Vladimir Putin’s government as responsible for Salisbury attack.

Germany: Police Union Chief Proposes Taking Children Away From ‘Anti-Semitic Parents’

The head of Germany’s 2nd largest police union, Rainer Wendt, stated that authorities should be allowed to take children away from parents who express anti-Semitic views.  He said, ‘If children are raised to become anti-Semites we shouldn’t be afraid to take them away from their families,” and Authorities need to act decisively [against anti-Semitism] including when the aggression comes from migrants.”  He did not elaborate on how or when such measures would be enforced.  He made the remarks after lawmakers from Chancellor Angela Merkel’s party were considering the deportation of migrants who express anti-Semitic views in Germany.

Authorities should be allowed to take children away from parents who express anti-Semitic views, the head of Germany’s 2nd largest police union has stated, without elaborating on how or when such measures would be enforced.

“Authorities need to act decisively [against anti-Semitism] including when the aggression comes from migrants,” Rainer Wendt, head of the German Police Union (DPoIG) told Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper on Wednesday.

“If children are raised to become anti-Semites we shouldn’t be afraid to take them away from their families.” He went on to accuse many school administrators of ignoring the problem, saying “they act according to the mantra ‘it doesn’t exist in my school.’

“There has also been a tendency not to willingly register anti-Semitism by Muslims – but it needs to be recorded without prejudice so that we can develop effective counter-strategies,” Wendt said.

Although Wendt did not specify how exactly he expects it to be determined that parents are anti-Semitic, Josef Schuster, the head of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, called last week for a better system to be introduced in schools. He said that teachers and students should have a way to report “anti-Semitic or other acts of violence without bureaucratic hurdles, in order to get a clearer picture of what is going on.”

Wendt’s remarks came just days after Wolfgang Schaeuble, speaker of the Bundestag, said that radical Muslim communities and immigrants with extremist views on Israel are contributing to anti-Semitism in Germany.

It also comes after a Jewish girl in a Berlin primary school was reportedly told by a Muslim classmate that she deserved to be beaten and killed because of her religion, in the third report of anti-Semitism in Berlin schools over the past 12 months. Another Jewish student in Berlin was recently forced to change schools as a result of violent bullying by Muslim classmates, who threatened him with a fake gun.

The police union chief’s remarks come after it was reported that lawmakers from Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU) and sister party CSU were seeking to adopt measures to deport migrants who express anti-Semitic views in Germany.“Complete acceptance of the Jewish life” is a “criterion for successful integration,” a draft of the proposal said, according to Die Welt.

Top Surgeon Says London Hospitals Look Like a War Zone Due to Gun and Knife Attacks

Dr. Mark Griffiths, a leading surgeon in London, says that the hospitals look like “war zones due to gun and knife crime epidemic.” He said, “We used to look after people in their twenties. Now people are often in their mid to late teens, and children in school uniforms are being admitted under our care with knife and gun wounds.” There have been 50 people killed in London so far this year – 50. That’s an epidemic.

London’s hospitals ‘look like war zones due to gun and knife crime epidemic’

London’s knife and gun crime epidemic is so bad that hospitals are starting to look like war zones, according to a top surgeon.

Dr Mark Griffiths, lead surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust in East London, said: “Some of my military colleagues have described their practice here as similar to being at (Camp) Bastion.

“We used to look after people in their twenties. Now people are often in their mid to late teens, and children in school uniforms are being admitted under our care with knife and gun wounds.

“Whereas a young boy being stabbed five or six years ago would have been a horror story, now it’s normal. People expect to see people being killed on a daily basis. Members of the public who are not involved in gangs or violence let this pass without comment and you get the society you deserve if you ignore violence.”

There have been 50 people killed in London so far this year – 50. That’s an epidemic. Law and order has been neglected and done on the cheap for too long.
