War Drums: Trump’s National Security Advisor Threatens Iran

US General Michael Flynn officially put Iran on notice after Houthi rebels from Yemen attacked a Saudi Arabian naval ship.  He blamed Iran for the attack because it previously backed the Houthis.  General Flynn did not mention that Saudi Arabia has been attacking Yemen since 2015.  In a separate event, Iran tested several ballistic missiles that the US says is in violation of the UN nuclear agreement. – GEG

It wasn’t hard to see this coming. President Trump’s National Security Advisor, Gen. Michael Flynn, delivered a clear threat to the government of Iran today, ominously stating that “as of this day, we are officially putting Iran on notice.” What is less clear is the the General’s rationale for issuing the threat.

Flynn cites two justifications for bringing the US on war footing against Iran. Both are dubious. First, he blames Iran for a recent attack on a Saudi naval vessel carried out by Houthi forces in Yemen. According to Flynn, because the Houthis are backed by Iran – itself a specious claim – it is Iran that is actually responsible for the attack.

Even if it were true that the Houthis are Iranian proxies, this kind of guilt-by-association reasoning gets quite awkward when considering what some US-backed rebels in Syria have done with US-provided weapons and training. Like beheading young boys.

What Flynn fails to mention is that Saudi Arabia has been attacking neighboring Yemen since 2015, with US assistance, leaving tens of thousands killed and injured and the Middle East’s poorest country in the midst of devastating famine. Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen was unprovoked, initiated only to force Riyadh’s preferred leader onto its southern neighbor. Under Flynn’s logic, it is perfectly fine for Saudi Arabia to initiate a genocidal war of aggression against another country. But the victim of the attack had better not fight back or the United States will blame yet a third country that has nothing to do with it.

FDA Declares ‘Virtually All’ Homeopathic Meds Are Illegal

The FDA, on behalf of the pharmaceutical companies, is cracking down on homeopathic medicines, which increasingly have been competing with more expensive (and toxic) prescription drugs. An estimated six-million Americans now use homeopathic medicines. A recently released FDA ‘guidance document’ says that homeopathic medicines are considered as ‘new drugs’ being sold illegally (meaning without FDA approval and without a prescription). -GEG

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reportedly declared that “virtually all” homeopathic drugs are illegal. Reports that the FDA is cracking down on the use of natural medicines have been circulating for a while. However, in a recently released “guidance document,” the FDA is now quoted as saying that homeopathic drugs are considered “new drugs” that are allegedly being sold illegally.

The FDA released its new guidance document last month, and sources in support of the use of homeopathic drugs are still attempting to translate what the FDA is calling a “draft guidance” that’s been released for “comment purposes only.” Homeopathy is becoming an increasingly popular form of treating various diseases naturally for people worldwide.

According to the Homeopathy Research Institute, more than 200 million people now regularly use homeopathic drugs, with over 6 million people in the U.S. alone using homeopathy “for self-care of specific health conditions.” More and more people are turning to homeopathic drugs versus prescriptions drugs due to alleged lower cost and fewer side effects. Natural medicines are also said to heal, rather than simply mask the symptoms of a disease.

With a growing number of the adult population around the world turning to homeopathy, as well as the recent “war on opioids” in the news, the FDA decided to announce new policies on the use of homeopathic drugs. An article on the Alliance for Natural Health USA from just over two weeks ago states that the FDA has effectively labeled “virtually every single homeopathic drug” as illegal, as outlined in the homeopathic guidance document.

In an attempt to decode the “FDA’s current position” on the use and sale of homeopathic drugs, the previously mentioned article says that since not one homeopathic drug has yet to be approved by the FDA as being “safe and effective,” then “all homeopathic drugs” are effectively illegal, and therefore, currently being sold illegally.

Citing the guidance document on the FDA website, homeopathic drugs are “marketed unapproved new drugs” with “potential safety risks” and “lack evidence of effectiveness.” The document goes on to say that homeopathic drugs are considered “health fraud products,” which, in turn, “present challenges” in getting the FDA’s approval as new drugs. The FDA then goes on to outline a “risk-based” approach to regulating homeopathic drugs.

An article on Mercola from Tuesday states that both adults and children currently use homeopathic drugs because natural medicines are still considered “generally safe.” Unlike some prescription medications, homeopathic remedies are also said to not carry the same risk of dependency, and according to Mercola, are “unlikely” to cause “severe” side effects.

George Soros Is Funding Campaign to Stop UK Split from EU

Leaked document links George Soros to the ‘Best for Britain’ activist group that is lobbying for the UK to stay in the EU. The group is trying to sway public opinion and is targeting MPs to convince them to vote against the final Brexit deal. So far, he has given over $554,840 to the group through his Open Society Foundation. -GEG

A leaked strategy document reveals that billionaire financier George Soros is one of three senior figures tied to a Remain group called “Best for Britain,” which is “secretly” pushing for a second referendum on Brexit to keep Britain in the EU, the Telegraph reports.

The 87-year-old Hungarian-American worth an estimated $25 billion has given over £400,000 ($554,840) to the group through his Open Society Foundation.

The leaked document also outlines a nationwide advertising campaign this month, as well as a drive to recruit major Tory donors in an attempt to undermine Prime Minister Theresa May and influence MPs.

It also plans to target MPs and convince them to vote against the final Brexit deal to trigger another referendum or general election, according to a strategy document leaked from a meeting of the group.

The document says the campaign, which will begin by the end of this month, must “wake the country up and assert that Brexit is not a done deal. That it’s not too late to stop Brexit”. –Telegraph

According to the Telegraph, MPs in 100 “Leave-supporting constituencies” will be pressured using “a range of guerrilla marketing tactics” to vote against Brexit. In addition to a series of “momentum-style” mass rallies and concerts planned by the “Remain” proponents, the campaign will reportedly have a “heavy youth focus.”

The group also plans to provide financial support to the European Movement, which counts former UK health minister Stephen Dorrell, and former chancellor Kenneth Clarke as Vice President.

Soros’s involvement in the scheme emerged after he entertained six Conservative donors at his Chelsea mansion last Monday.

Israel Sues New Zealanders for Free Speech in New Zealand

Israel is suing two New Zealanders for exercising freedom of speech inside their own country. The pair posted an open letter on a blog to Lorde, a pop singer who was born in new Zealand, requesting that she boycott her scheduled concert in Israel, because Palestinians are denied equal rights with Israelis and often are denied basic services. Israel passed a law in 2011 that criminalizes the advocacy of boycotting its businesses. The government now is moving beyond its borders and seeking to punish boycotters in other countries as well. [That the Israeli government would seek to protect its own commerce is understandable, but that other governments would not protect the freedom-of-speech of their own citizens is bizarre.] -GEG

Imagine for a moment you’re a New Zealander living in a country ranked the fourth most vibrant democracy in the world.

In an expression of your dearly loved democratic freedoms you post an open letter on a local blog urging a New Zealand born pop star to not perform her scheduled concert in Israel, because “Palestinians living in the occupied territories do not enjoy the same rights Israeli citizens enjoy, they are denied freedom of movement and often basic services and necessities”.As such, you “believe that an economic, intellectual and artistic boycott is an effective way of speaking out against these crimes”.

Now imagine that shortly after posting this blog, you receive a letter from a law firm in Tel Aviv that outlines the intent to sue you for nearly $15,000 on behalf of three Israeli teenagers who had purchased tickets for the concert.

Had this happened to you, you might well be wondering what on earth was going on, but also where your right to peaceful, non-violent, free speech had suddenly disappeared to.

Well, this is exactly what happened to two young New Zealanders last week, when they received a letter from Ms Darshan-Leitner, leader of Shurat HaDin Israel law centre. The group seeks to punish Israel’s critics and political opponents.

Their mission statement reads, “We are dedicated to protecting the State of Israel. By defending against lawfare suits, fighting academic and economic boycotts, and challenging those who seek to delegitimise the Jewish State, Shurat HaDin is utilising court systems around the world to go on the legal offensive against Israel’s enemies.”

According to Darshan-Leitner, the three Israeli teens “were hurt by the show’s cancellation. They are fans of the singer, went immediately to purchase tickets as soon as they heard she is coming to Israel.

But, she continues, “There is also the national side to the lawsuit. As citizens of this country, as citizens who will next year serve this country in the military or civil service, they were hurt from the BDS [Boycott, Divest, Sanction] movement.”

This action against the New Zealanders constitutes the first ever use of a controversial Israeli law passed by the country’s parliament, the Knesset, in 2011. It allows Israeli individuals, corporations, and even the state itself to punish anyone who supports the boycott of Israel itself, or Israeli owned businesses.

Launched in 2005, the BDS movement seeks to bring Israel into compliance with the international law, specifically the Geneva Convention, and multiple UN Resolutions. It’s a non-violent form of political protest, and the exact kind used to end Apartheid in South Africa in the 1980s.

The act of boycotting anything is an act of free speech.

FBI ‘Lovebirds’ Texts May Implicate Obama – Did He Know about the Dirty Dossier & FISA Warrants?

In September, 2016, FBI lawyer Lisa Page was preparing talking points for James Comey to update Obama on the agency’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, and she sent a text to her paramour, fellow FBI agent, Peter Strzok, that said, “potus wants to know everything we’re doing.” This raises questions about what Obama knew and when he knew it. Representative, Louis Gohmert, says that either the FISA judge was duped or he is part of the fraud. -GEG

Obama was asked if Hillary Clinton would be protected by the DOJ in the investigation into her missing emails.  He replied, “Nobody gets treated differently when it comes to the Justice Department because nobody is above the law.”
