St. Petersburg, Russia: A homemade bomb killed at least 11 people on a subway train and left more than 50 injured. A second, larger explosive device disguised as a fire extinguisher was found at another subway station. A suspect who was filmed at the scene turned himself in to police, claiming he is innocent. A second man, also captured on CCTV, is suspected of being a suicide bomber with links to radical Islam.
Neuenhaus, Germany: An 18-year-old Somali ‘asylum seeker’ has been charged with raping two disabled men before murdering the second victim’s elderly wife. The attack occurred in October 2016, but the press has refused to report the crimes until now. The killer is being given special treatment by prosecutors because of his youth.
It is illegal for the CIA or NSA to target US citizens for surveillance unless there is probable cause to believe they are involved in criminal activity. That rule was circumvented when the Obama administration authorized intelligence gathering against foreigners who were thought to be in communication with the Trump transition team. The goal was to spy on the Trump team.
