President Trump proposed increasing the military’s budget by $54 billion, a 10% bump totaling $603 billion. War hawks, led by Senator John McCain are demanding even more money. Democrats railed against the increase, because it cuts into domestic programs such as those carried out by the Environmental Protection Agency. Trump’s plan would reduce foreign aid and would cut the State Department’s budget up to 30%.
California: A Superior Court judge has ruled that a report on cell-phone risk, written by the state’s Environmental Health Investigations, must be released to the public. The report shows that use of cell phones involves a significant risk of contracting cancer. So far, the report has been covered up because officials are afraid of law suits by the cellphone industry.
