“What Happened Last Night In Sweden” Affects US Policy

President Trump held a rally last weekend to garner support for his immigration policies and he told the crowd, “We’ve got to keep our country safe. You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden.”  People were confused by his imprecise reference to Sweden, and he was ridiculed in the media and on social media.  He later tweeted that he was referring to a news report that he saw on Fox News that revealed Sweden’s migrant problems.

His warning was prophetic as rioters set cars on fire and vandalized buildings in Rinkeby, a migrant area of Stockholm, the next day.  Rinkeby has a history of riots in 2010 and 2013.

In the original interview with filmmaker Ami Horowitz, Fox reported that Sweden admitted more than 160,000 migrants last year, despite having a population of less than 10 million people, and only 500 of those migrants were able to get jobs, creating a heavy burden on citizens.  Swedish taxpayers are funding generous benefits including housing, food, education and cash.

Additionally, violent crimes and rape have skyrocketed, but law enforcement has covered up crimes, such as rapes at music festivals, by denying the rapes occurred and failing to identify the migrant perpetrators.

Many Swedes view care for migrants as their “moral duty” just as their own culture is dying out, and is being replaced by chaos.  It is socially unacceptable to criticize the migrant program, and people risk being shamed and labeled as racist or anti-Islamic.

Ami Horowitz’ 10-minute short film, Stockholm Syndrome, provides more details on how law enforcement is covering up rapes by Muslim migrants, dangerous police no-go zones and riots.

Swedish police say that gun violence has increased and Kalashnikov weapons and hand grenades have been found.  The officers later said that their comments were taken out of context.

Swedish people who were interviewed were either clueless about the rise in crime, made excuses, or blamed the excessive rapes on all men instead of migrants.

Fox reporter Tucker Carlson interviewed a Swedish reporter, Anne-Sophie Naslund, who defended Sweden’s hate speech laws that amount to censorship. Carlson pointed out that people have gone to jail for expressing their opinions, which has a chilling effect. Naslund was dismissive of those who have been punished for ‘hate speech,’ calling them “neo-Nazis.”

Carlson said that Sweden stopped keeping crime statistics based on national origin in 2001 because they were embarrassing, but when they did keep records, foreign-born men were four to five times more likely to commit violent crimes and sex crimes than Swedish men.

Trump called out Sweden’s problems to justify his immigration policies that are now ready for roll out: the Department of Homeland Security instructed its employees to immediately begin to implement President Trump’s executive orders to build the wall along the Mexican border, to hire an additional 10,000 ICE officers and 5,000 border patrol officers, and to reinstate the 287(g) program which allows for local and state law enforcement officials to enforce federal immigration law.
